As long as any subsequent wipes that end up being necessary are done the same way as the first (public realms wiped, private realms saved, RCs saved), I see no problem with multiple resets.

Everyone can get their melons and pumpkins and stuff from 1.8 even without a wipe for 1.8.

1.9 wipe! Gives us moar terrain stuff! And 1.9 wipe would give us more new terrain stuff then a wipe for 1.8.

The thing is, I'm taking a break from Minerealm until the map is wiped, since most of the people in my realm either left or aren't playing the game anymore. I stopped playing ingame a while ago in anticipation for the map wipe so I can start anew.

I'm for the 1.8 map wipe so I can start anew already =P

Will postponing the wipe also postpone Minerealm 3.5? If so, I am for 1.8. If not, then 1.9.

Afaik seeds will be found in abandoned mineshafts, a 1.8 map feature...

Afaik seeds will be found in abandoned mineshafts, a 1.8 map feature...

That's what I heard. So the melons, pumpkins etc will be added to the game's code, but since we can't (for now) go any further than the 10000x10000 square, no new terrain will be generated until after the wipe. And no new terrain = new items are effectively unavailable.

Just...Seeds, melons, mossy and cracked bricks. Everything else you can either loot or craft.
