1) To save the player from future pitfall danger due to recovery of said dropped items.

2) To allow the player the security of knowing that someone else is not benefiting from their work of getting said dropped items.

3) To allow the player a clear inventory ready to go back into the world of minecraft and adventure to get NEW items!

I see this as generous.
Or...

1) He does not need the items.

2) He wants an excuse when players ask for their items back.

3) He wanted to kill the other player just to make him mad. Because that is what he does.
Word choice my friend. I don't believe Kress91 explicitly stated that he "wanted to kill the other player". Unless he told you specifically, how would you even begin to understand his intentions? Also, we all understand that maintenance of that area must require a tremendous amount of work. Since I own a realm within the near vicinity of the pit, I'm able to witness how much effort Kress91 puts towards the pit, working on it quite often. I agree that it is rather unfortunate of a player to interfere with his work and to suffer falling into a pit as a result, but this incident wouldn't be categorized as murder don't you agree sir?

An alternative explanation is that the items removed from the player's inventory upon reaching the bottom of the pit are taken as a payment for the privilege of landing on a floor made of pure glowstone.

This is quite beautiful. I will take it upon myself to explain what Prodigy9 implies when he uses the phrase "items removed". Prodigy9 has made the situation clear in a format that the majority can comprehend. For those of you that are of the more intelligent type, please consider the following:

Since I hold the player in high regard, I would say he must be quite intelligent to understand the effects of death and what happens to items due to this cause. Therefore, from Prodigy9's phrase we can infer that the player "offered the items as a gift" upon reaching the glowstone. Thus, the exchange of the word "payment" can also be changed to "charity". Remember that Kress91 does not request any payment for utilizing the pit including landing on his glowstone.

Fact #1: Pits are large holes in the ground
Fact #2: Players take fall damage
Fact #3: Players drop items when they die
Fact #4: Players pick up items when they walk into them
Fact #5: Players falling into large holes take large fall damage
Fact #6: Players who take large enough damage die
Fact #7: Players who die from fall damage drop all their items
Fact #8: A Player who walks over another players dropped items pick them up
Fact #9: No ban request will be accepted without tangible proof(unless an Admin or Mod make it)

If you are smart enough to understand facts 1-3, you will stand nowhere near any long falls.
If you are smart enough to understand facts 5-7, you know the risk that looking into a pit entails
If you are smart enough to understand facts 4 and 8, you know basic Minecraft gameplay mechanics.
If you are smart enough to understand fact 9, this thread is invalid unless someone has proof

I personally do not see any "tangible proof" that Kress91 pushed anyone into a pit, and a random comment on the forums without evidence does nothing to sway any logical person's opinion. If Kress91 DID pick up any persons items then it was entirely within his right, as they foolishly decided to see what sound their face makes when it hits the ground after falling 60 or so blocks, because taking items from a dead player is not against the rules. In addition to the above, I request that the name of this thread is changed to something that is not a personal attack on a valued Minerealm player, a personal attack which is potentially damaging to said players reputation.
This isn't about minecraft mechanics, it's about behavior. I did't know that players can and will push me over the edge in order to inflict fall damage. Plus, it happened so quickly that there's no way to take a screenshot or even know what was happening until it was too late. The pit is right next to the spawn!!

I think the name of the thread should remain intact ;)

OBJECTION!

You did not read Fact 9 closely enough. Because what I am now reading indicates that you believe it is too hard to get the proof that you don't have?

And now the truth, ladies and gentlemen, is revealed. If, as Mr.Digi claims, "it happened so quickly that there's no way to take a screenshot or even know what was happening until it was too late", how would he know who(if anyone) pushed him? The only way he would know who pushed him would be if he was standing facing AWAY from the pit, and that Kress91 would have had to push him off while he was being watched. Kress would of course never do such a wicked deed, and while many dislike him for no reason, everyone admits that he is smart enough to know that: Indirect PvP Kill+Player Looking Directly At Me=Banned

A more plausible situation is that Digi fell off and then Kress91, who was probably working on the rim of pit at the time, jumped down and picked up Digi's items. Digi might have seen this on his GAME OVER screen, and jumped to an illogical conclusion.

Furthermore, yes, the pit is right next to spawn. There is also a pit a little further away from spawn. Once I found a pit on the edge of the map. My friend fell into a pit that was in her realm. The point I am trying to make is that there are many pits, and unless if the pit IS spawn, it's proximity should not matter because a pit is a pit. You WILL take damage if you fall into a pit, and common sense keeps you from falling into pits.

Well spoken, however, you did not read my original post closely enough because clearly this is not a ban request, but merely (1) a second motion to first poster's claims, and (2) response to your post requesting a change of the thread title.

I was 2 blocks away from the edge and standing still... I did not fall in, I was pushed. So yes, the final image was Kress picking up my items in the game over screen. He didn't respond to my direct msg about my inventory after it happened, and you guys are the ones joking about him taking people's dropped items and throwing them into lava (also providing confirmation that he does that sort of thing). That in itself is a jerk behavior regardless of if he did the pushing or not. Hence the thread title!

I think the confusion stems from the fact that the original post asked for Kress to be banned, as though being a "jerk" is a bannable offense. Even though *you're* not requesting a ban, the first guy was.
