I'm not sure about that... apparently there was talk of it happening shortly after Notch's indie developer convention (which ends today), depending on how much debugging still has to be done. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw 1.8 within a week or two.

Ok ok ok, time for me to clear things up and help you all out. We're all anxious for 1.8, obviously, but do we know exactly when it's coming out? Well not quite, but we can sort of figure that out with THE INTERNET.

First off, you should always check this link on the Minecraft Wiki to see what's coming up in the new updates. This link should be obvious by now.

Secondly, check blog sites like Kotaku and IGN for any videos (you should always check Notch's tumblr, Twitter, and Google+ too, but we all know to do that). Speaking of videos, look at these...

The return of full PVP(Player Versus Player) and the "Wilderness" would be an amazing addition to an already fantastic server! Friendship and community bonds would be forged over the warm embers left from Brotherly Battle! The fantastic enabling of TNT(Trinitrotoluene) would send love and fellowship of all players all over the world, spreading from one happy point located in the center of the blast radius!

These are two additions to Minerealm that I know every single person who plays on this server will enjoy!

I wouldn't enjoy it. I like this server because it reflects a real society; we don't usually see people attacking others to gain their possessions in every day life. Yes, we have criminals, but its not a common occurrence to see brutal robberies in front of you daily. If it were to come to this in Minerealm, I'd probably not return. I just don't see the fun in regressing from what is a pretty developed game society.
