So I tell a guy to stop swearing (giving him a warning, assuming he is an intellectual). Actually, here is the general situation:
Him: "F**k this server."
Me: "Stop swearing." (I didn't say please, sorry P-C people).
Him: Literally, and the / indicates a new message: "F**k F**k F**k / c**t c**t c**t / sh*t sh*t sh*t".
Me: *Banned for swearing* "What a retard, lol."
So apparently someone that clearly has no respect for the entire server, is over the age of 13, or can understand a simple direction, is to be protected from name-calling? Oh please.
And this political correct nonsense needs to stop. When you sensitize the word "retarded", you make any person who may be mentally challenged more of an outcast than when you accept it as a common phrase. You make it seem like some alien, unspeakable group of people, and frankly, I like to respect those who have more mental difficulties than the rest of us, by showing that they aren't some out-casted group of people that we dare not speak of.
Furthermore, even if I were at fault by calling someone retarded, why on Earth would we protect someone who literally swore nine times in all of our faces after I told him to stop? Don't try to defend their "rights", there is nothing to defend here.
Furthermore *2, why are you assuming the word retard refers to a mentally challenged person? I never said that, did you say that? In my book, retard = an idiot; a non-personal insult directed at someone who is clearly deserving of no-one's respect. So, why do people automatically associate the word retard with mentally challenged? I surely don't.
Should I get in trouble if I call a rapist a "horny pervert?" That's offensive, isn't it? Poor fella, I'm putting him down.
No, please. Keep this server human. We don't need this political correctness nonsense; it does no good here.
However, your complaint is duly noted, and as me saying it is causing some upset with you, I will no longer use that word, on the simple grounds that I wish to meet the player-base's best interests. I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable, and for that respect for you as a person I will not use the word "retard". Your reasoning is what irritates me, but your intentions are very logical, and like I said twice: I will refrain from using the word.
