My suggestion is simple. Now that we are full 1.8 and have guardians spawning where monuments should be on our map. It's only right for us to have some "naturally" generated ocean monuments in those areas.
I know we have ways to farm prismarine now, the new blocks of 1.8. However sponges have also been added to vanilla survival and only generate with monuments. This also goes for elder guardians, the "boss" mob of the ocean monuments. Only 3 generate per temple and drop a sponge or two on death.
So in short, it would just be nice to have these generated structures for the last unobtainable 1.8 block on Minerealm to make our updating complete. I think just like the wipe people should be able to opt into or out of having temples generate on their plots. For instance if a player structure has been built in the same area, or is left over from the previous wipe so that the monument doesnt end up deleting the underside of their base.
The only real drawbacks to this suggestion are coding/time consumption.
