I received both BF4 and Premium as gifts last year, but at this point I certainly wouldn't be considering buying another BF EA game.

No I definitely agree with you, the vid is over the top, but at a basic level it is more or less accurate at the moment.

BF hardline is a game that is, fundamentally, BF4 with a different mode. Though it cant be judged on the ONE level, that IS what the game mode that defines the game is about.

I've supported the BF series for a decent while now, I own BF3 and BF4 premium, and they've costed about $160 each as an Australian which is kind of unbelievable.

I can't AFFORD another BF game. I'm just praying that they don't do the same thing to battlefront.

Due to the last year and a half being addicted to Minecraft I totally missed out on BF4 even though I bought it for the wife on 360. So I guess it's not quite as visible to me.
I only really jumped on the BF bandwagon towards the end of Bad Company 2's lifecycle too.

Cost IS an issue but honestly $160 is like half a days wage and compared to what I get out of it it's totally worth it. When I look at the games I've bought at the $80-100 range, then compare game time on raptr I can't complain. Or even the no doubt $100's+ I'm about to throw on steam sales for games I'll never play.
I would still rather throw that at EA than Activision/CoD any day.

I even threw $20 at EA this week for BF3 premium even though I already have it on 360. Partly for the completionist angle but mainly cause I still have awesome memories of BF3 in it's hayday on 360 and seem to be reliving it right now on PC.

That said I'm on the verge of throwing $600AU at either a PS4 or Xbone anyway >.<

I was playing Planetside 2 before BF4 since it is more of a massive multiplayer game and is what I liked about it and BF4 is similar if not smaller maps ( way smaller lol) but at least walls and buildings break and such.

I like BF4 better then hardline and like the guy that swears alot to get viewers says it is just a mod pack. Also is what shouldve been an addon on pack for BF4. I for one will not be buying Hardline just cause the games are so short and the maps small ( though nice they are larger to wander around a lil).

BF4 still needs work which like most games lately they ignore and dont fix it. LOS issues, stutter lag, screen stutter... it gets ridiculous. At least in Planetside 2 they tossed up updates and fixes to the game in more of a timely manner and they are a F2P game!

If you watch some sites you can pick up BF4 for $25us and Prem for $25-35 as well. Still worth it after playing it if you can live with the issues. (one friend has a certain map crash on him even after repeated reinstalls and DICE support)

Xbone or PS4.... Buy a better PC :P

PS4 I find lacking for what it shouldve been out of the box. Shouldve been the PS3 and more or at least the PS3 in terms of features even if it cant play PS3 games. I dislike hitting the PS+ button and it only lets you pick PS+ to subscribe too. It should show you everything PS+ offers and what you can get instead you have to goto games then PS+ to see what limited selection it offers. Understandable since its new system.

Oh PS4 offers Keyboard and mouse support but it seems most arent offering that support since theres the big PC vs Console wars going on.

XBone is sorta similar there too but at least offers a better system with kenetic, where as the PS4 eye is a joke and more a useless toy the XBone at least is more refined and offers more. If it offered 1080p gaming I prob wouldve got it over the PS4. ( oh looks like 1080 is now achievable but without kenetic lol).

Just to clarify, BF4 STILL has ongoing DLC.
Battlefield Hardline is a new IP (albeit under the BF franchise) by another developer Visceral.
So no it shouldn't be DLC. This is a whole new game with a full campaign.
DLC for BF traditionally has always been MP maps.

That said, I played BF4 for the first time today on 360 and have to say I found this small beta more entertaining...

Me, my wife, cheevo whores, pretty much the entire community I used to game with before this minecraft addiction, need I go on?
I think you'll find a lot of people do play through campaigns, especially ones like BF3/Bad Company 2 when you're rewarded with weapons you can use in the MP component.
