Hey All,
So I remember starting MineRealm on my sisters account, "mitchthegamer," and learning Minerealm through that account. I later purchased my own account, and logged into Minerealm.

Now, the title is as it is, because when I spawned onto Minerealm for the first time...
My spawnpoint, wasn't spawn.
Idk what happened, or if the old "Set Your Own Spawn 1000 Blocks From Spawn" thing was implemented, but it just happened. I then went to trade, done a spawn type command like setspawn or something, and all was fixed.

The point of this thread, is pretty much a question. Why did this happen, and did anyone else have it?

Bear in mind that this was back when I first joined, about the end of 2011/2012. And I'm not 100% expecting an answer. I'm being curious

You, my good friend, are one of the rare people belonging to the almighty multiple spawn generation.

Why did it happen? Because you spawned when there were multiple spawn points (those being the standard spawn city spawn, roanoke, and abysses). Each new player spawned in one of these random spots. Entering /spawn teleported you to that spawn. You could change your spawn point by entering /setspawn within a particular distance to a spawn point.

I think some people still have their spawn point set at one of those other spots. Dunno if they're able to change it though.

Why was it removed? Probably because players complained that they spawned thousands of blocks from their friends'. Though, instead of removing multiple spawns, I would have preferred they become universal warp points as opposed to just spawn points.

Eah is right. We used to have a multiple spawn system and that would explain why it happened to you!

Honestly, I prefer the multiple spawns because it allows for different communities to form and gives the "Spawn Realms" less value as I think they are way to expensive for what they are most the time.

I was also one of the multiple spawn crew! I was really confused at first, as i spawned somewhere, walked and ran a long way, typed spawn and ended up somewhere else!
I believe it was FlannyFlan that clued me in.... is she still about?

Mine was a wooden thing, roughly 500blocks from spawn I think. It wasn't too far. May have been 1000...
