As it has no point where the Nether will always be PVP.
:/ Really it doesn't matter if pvp dies on MineRealm, it won't be removed if other people don't want kill each other.

As someone who uses a slow internet connection (3G cell phone modem tethered to my computer via WiFi), I can attest to frustration with loosing my styuff entering the nether spawn (I still say frostybirth did it to me WHILE I was standing in the portal). Recently I was killed by a newb who, to my knowledge, had no weapon at all. I was wearing full prot. 4 diamond armor. The problem I have is that the map takes about 30 seconds to load for me when I enter the nether (or, conversely, the overworld from the nether) or when I use a tp (/home, /spawn, /trade).

My solution - just deal with it. You it can happen and you should take steps to avoid any unwanted loss.

I have my own portal, but it lets out inches from someone's huge Nether base...
that one's even less safe due to ripped up ground leading to a giant fall to lava, too.
I've been trying to fix it without getting killed...

Is your portal in the right spot(s)?

Try using a site like http://www.mavenspun.com/games/minecraft/ as it may help but even then in some cases theres other portals too close to yours and it sends one off to another area/portal. Very annoying when trying to figure out which one is causing the issue.
