I like where this conversation is going. TeeJayDub is correct, this is something that must be handeled on the back end of the server (maybe this will inspire someone to learn some java and help with minerealm v5). It also requires a certain amount of trust to work well. The community project that mitchie151 suggested may be a good spot for regular events to take place until this is implemented. If an LBG arena was built there on public land, events could be hosted there daily (or even hourly) by anyone. Just a thought.

That wasn't quite what I was saying. I was merely pointing out that enabling /setevent for all staff as suggested by eah still wouldn't allow us to host events at the LGB arena, because with the current coding Intelli must be there to give perms anyway. It will be great if this is resolved in a future MineRealm update but for the moment I'll work around it by building my own arena on a plot where I can give perms.

I may create a suggestion thread about event hosting at some point but would like to think it through first.

It saddens me that one single post on a small, quite innocuous thread can change your mood so much. You should probably work on that.

But to be serious, I praise good things and condemn bad things. Sure my delivery might be a little harsh but that's my opinion. Plus, I don't have to 'get off this thread' because it is a community thread, intended specifically for the community of Minerealm to share their and debate their opinions on a various slew of topics.

If you haven't already caught on, I don't like this suggestion because it suggests players are entitled to rare events and can demand them at their whim. I would like having weekly events, but let the owner do that himself, not be pressured (if that's possible) into doing it by the community.

I agree, as being able to have events more frequent just makes them lose their luster.
Also, yes. Your delivery is harsh, and quite often too, but you normally have a valid point.
Even if said point comes across as an amateur sword-eater being force-fed Cloud's Buster sword while looking down.

You can voice your opinions in a better way, then bashing on someones ideas. If no one suggested ideas for the server, then it would never go anywhere, and clearly, since it has 14 yes's and 4 no's, the community likes it.

Not to mention that I have stated multiple times on putting this on someone else BESIDES staff. I would rather there be an event holder that isn't staff, so that we can leave staff to do Staff member things.

The only thing that would be required, is for Intelli to give the commands to another player. Not just /setevent, but many more that can branch off the idea.

If we can't suggest things to the Staff like you mentioned, then our server would be dull to the community.

But then again.. Seems you enjoy dull and negative things.

But anyways, Eetrab, I'm pretty sure if you read more than just the title you would realize they are asking for SOMEONE to be able to host events, not just Intelli and Rokkr. This isn't just a demand that those two to host more events. <.<
