Why? Care to give some pro's and cons? If you don't want /home perhaps you should just live in the wilderness?

/home is basically what makes a server bearable. Can you imagine how PAINFUL it would be just to travel the 4k blocks to get back to Sub Aurora every time I died?

Yeah, its more like single player... except in single player you have a bed, or your town is practically on top of the spawn point anyway.

Removing /home adds nothing of value to the server.

It would encourage people to develop the subway further and the nether paths, also for teh lulz ;)

I believe the /home command was implemented to mimic the way a player in vanilla minecraft could always spawn at the bed they had last slept in after dying. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the command has been around for several years and most people do not have the time (or brains in my case) to make nether paths or other quick routes to their houses. -1 from me.

make minerealm more vanilla...

ok if you remove /home then you should spawn at the place where you did /sethome, because beds dont work.
Next: If you remove /home to make it more vanilla you should remove /spawn and /trade and the teleporter as well.
and to make it really vanilla, remove realm protections, staff members, and any kind of rules.

oh man, that sounds like a real mess...

Look, we ARE MineRealm! We got our realms, rules, staff-members, and some basic commands, like /spawn /home and /trade. Intelli, Staff-members and our Community, we all give our best to keep the game as balanced as possible. and the /home command helps A LOT.
Whenever you get lost, whenever you get stuck in a hole, and forget to bring your pickaxe, you got your /home
Dont you feel more comfortable if you have a /home where you can return to whenever you want? The home you are proud of, because its yours and you built it, you live there, you have everything there.

and besides that, wouldnt it be more horrible for some people, because Newbies build more and more cobble huts just because they cant find their hut anymore and just build a new one?
Are you really aware of that what could happen if /home gets removed?
Think of it a bit more.

Yes because we all love riding on a subway that quite often has griefed death traps on it.
Also, are you going to be providing minecarts for all the new players? Especially if Mojang go ahead and nerf AFK iron/gold farms?

While nether travel would be awesome globally, there are certain elements on the server that have no shame in hiding in the nether and killing the unaware.
I use the nether all the time, but I keep well away from nether spawn for this very reason.
