I think this was already suggested, but either the thread was long forgotten or I just can't find it. Anyhow, here it is.
My suggestion is that any player who has played on the server for 2 years gets a '2 year veteran achievement' and so on for however many years the player has played (like the current veteran achievement), although I'm sure most would prefer a better name.
I know what some people may be thinking; 'what about the players who have already played for 2-3+ years?' Well, in that case the player would receive the achievements for however many years they have played. Or, perhaps, the original veteran achievement would be updated each year and the name would change.
I'm nearing my 2nd year on the server and I'm sure many players are also, and the fact is that 'veteran' is no longer as prestigious as it once was, because most of our newish-regulars are or have already received veteran, and with a smaller amount of new players joining, soon 80-90% of the regulars will be veteran. Basically, this will give players something more to look forward to each year and will likely make the veteran achievement more special.
So, cast your votes and comments! I'm not still sure of the flaws in this plan, but if anybody happens to pick them up please don't be afraid to address them. Thanks!
