'Ello, I just had a quick question for anyone who knows best how to answer.

Would the land wipe, and very possibly the update, have various negative effects on our current overview system, which currently is unable to display some of the more recent blocks?
Is there anything in the future of planning to do something with it?

2. Allow opting realms into the wipe

This will be possible right up until the wipe occurs. Once the wipe starts, all realms to be wiped are finalized, and realms can't be opted in or out of the wipe.

Upon acceptance of this suggestion, the command "/realm wipe" will be added, allowing players to opt their realm in to be wiped.

3. Intelligently determine what realms to wipe

One of the issues with the last wipe, was that there were weird chunks of land left over, depending on where the edges of realms/chunks were located. To resolve this, we've created a system that only wipes areas of realms that are at least 150x150 in size. This means that if there's a single public realm, surrounded by private realms, that public realm won't be wiped.

Im reading (probably falsely) a conflict here. Will a player be able to flag a singular owned private realm to be wiped, even if this realm is completely surrounded by realms that are not flagged to be wiped and/or public realms that dont meet the "150x150 in size" criteria mentioned in the quote?

Another way to pose the question: Will the "150x150 in size" criteria affect even private areas on the map and thereby block any private realms flagged for wiping?

TLDR:

means that if there's a single public realm, surrounded by private realms, that public realm won't be wiped.

If THAT single realm, surrounded by private realms, is PRIVATE and has been flagged it WILL be wiped then?

From what I understand of the proposed wipe a single private realm in a sea of private realms wont get wiped if set to be wiped and if the others around it are set not to wipe. If all the realms around the one (greater then 3?) are set to be wiped then the middle one can be wiped if set to be wiped.

If that makes any sense. Of course Intelli could prob explain it better.

What I've heard is that if you want your single realm to wipe it will, because the keeping the public land alive rule is only to keep land flowing naturally. If you want to have your land look unnatural then go ahead.

Although it is not stated, I suspect that if private realms are set to be wiped, on the action of being wiped they become public. This means that they abide by the public realm system, so even if you want to wipe one realm surrounded by private realms, it won't happen.

From everything written and said setting a private realm to wipe you still OWN the realm, even after the wipe occurs- and since you chose that single realm to be wiped, it will, since you specifically slated it for such.

At least, that is what I'm picking up from every reliable person I've listened to.

Summary of Questions

There are a few unanswered questions scattered through this thread now. This is a summary of the major ones, so it's nice and easy for Intelli to see them

• 1) Will a private realm that has been flagged to be wiped actually be wiped if it has adjacent private realms that are not flagged for wiping and thus is not part of a 3x3 realm wipeable area?
  
  2) Will the Wildy be reset to 1.7 terrain during the wipe?
  
  3) Will a flag be added to the /realm list and /realm commands to show what realms are marked for wiping?
  
  4) Will a map be released (my suggestion just showing land/water, not biomes) before the wipe so we can compare our current terrain with the new terrain, to help us decide whether to wipe our realms?
  
  5) Will realm ownership inside the Wildy border be resolved prior to the wipe, to prevent players preserving terrain (and chests) within the Wildy?

Really looking forward to the wipe and the new terrain

This is correct. Setting a realm to wipe will merely treat the realm as public land.
