On Tuesday Dec 3, I was riding my bicycle home from work and was struck by a car. I broke both bones in both legs below the knees. I also have a burst fracture in my c7 vertebrae. I have been in the hospital and rehab since the accident, and will trapped in this torso body armor restraint for a minimum of three months. I should make it home by the middle of January, and you may see me pop in from that point on, but my whole life has been turned upside down.

Again, most of you don't even know me, but I've been playing for almost 3 years now. I'll be back as soon as my neck is better.
I wish you a speedy recovery.
I had a accident whilst cycling to a doctors' appointment back in June. Quickly entered onto a roundabout and a car pulled out in front of me. Managed to avoid colliding by breaking hard, but hit the pavement. Got a concussion and fractured right wrist and elbow (thankfully not my drawing arm!).
Was quite lucky. Was going to a doctor's appointment, ended up in hospital.

Good to hear you're still with us in the land of the living. Rest well and remember to look out for yourself. Ask for as much advice and help as possible from the doctor's as possible, such as seeking physio-therapy, etc.
Good news, is that you've survived and have time on your hands to look at and reassess your priorities in life.
Take care and take it easy, follow dooctor's advice when it comes to rebuilding your muscle strength in your legs, etc.
When you start to feel better, possibly take up swimming? Might be better exercise for back injuries, best to speak to the doctor's in anycase.

Dude, that sucks...
Here's to a fast recovery and hopefully not completely ridiculous hospital bills...

A lot of my friends have been hit by cars... at least nicked.

I know this feel, to a much lesser extent, and both times due to my own recklessness. Take it easy man.. I'd say get well soon, but that's up to the P.T., which I know you can handle. You've my support.

Thank you so much for all of the kind words. I have been improving as fast as I can, but the doctors say that it'll probably be about a year before I feel "normal" again. We are taking legal actions, but I can't really go into any details until everything is resolved. I wouldn't count on walking away "rich" though.

My wife was trying hard to get me to go to Yoga classes with her before the accident. I told her that cycling would be a more ''manly" way to get back into shape. Well, after all this, I think I'll give Yoga a shot. In fact, if I had only listened to her in the first place.... ;)

Yeah, sometimes it's worth it not to be manly...
