As most of you know when a player logs in the first thing they see are the signs welcoming them to MineRealm and the sign for the website address. I'm only bringing this up since a lot of new players just run from spawn and don't usually read the rules.

My idea is this: Move the rules.

I have two suggestions technically when it comes to this. The main one is to move the rules signs below the welcome/website signs like so.


If this is unacceptable then we could move to part two of my suggestion. Move the rules to the Information building as there is more room there for more rules/detailed rules to be posted. Also, doing both of these would keep the rules signs from suddenly going blank or disappearing all together.

[Optional] As for what could go on the old rules signs I was thinking about possibly putting the plug.dj address for minerealm. You know the http://minerealm.com/plug.dj/listen one. But that is just something to think about :3

I fully agree with all of this. This helps prevent unruly new players who didn't see the rules, and also gets more people to come listen to our music... it gets rather lonely because normally I'm the only one on.

What if there was some kind of 'first spawn' where newbies start, and they have to read the rules before they could move on out in the 'real world'. There could be some kind of check before they get out. It will make ppl more aware of the rules plus it would force griefers to spend some time before they could start messing, and hopefully they don't have enough patiance to do that :/

It's been suggested many times before (by me, in fact) but new players who join and see a rules room are much less likely to stay than new players who join and see a skyscraper, a garden, a Nether portal, and other amazing builds. In addition, it would be practically impossible to actually make players read the rules, and the sort who are most likely to disobey them would probably just ignore them.

I agree, like maybe a hallway newbies must go through showing the rules and are almost forced to read them to prevent almost instant ban by server or staff.

Question is if we even want those that dont wanna read rules at all. And the spawn as it is now is really ugly. And there is ways to make ppl both see nice buildings and not being at normal spawn. All that matters is some creativity and the will to make it happen
