It was difficult to come up with a easy to understand title, but here goes;

As of the recent Realm Purchasing Update, here, a lot has changed with the process out buying a realm.

One aspect hasn't, well at least, not to my knowledge. That is, that it is still possible to buy a realm, like before, if for example the player isn't a Forum regular or only logs on for short amounts of time and doesn't pay attention to the Chat.

Anyway getting to my point, if anything like what I am going to mention next hasn't been implemented yet, I feel it would be a good idea to.

It is;

A notification when a Player types '/realm purchase' letting them know that there are changes and to make sure they have gone through the new system before continuing their purchase.

or/and

Custom coding, which could be useful in the future, where when a Player types '/realm purchase', aspects happen where the realm is scanned for recent logs, such as; block placements, chest uses, and other aspects, maybe excluding sapling placements. And if any of the logs exist recently, the system doesn't allow you to continue even if you had thought that what you could see what 'untouched land'.

In my opinion the first one should be easy enough to implement, and the second would be a useful addition to have as it could make aspects more efficient and save disputes.

But, as I mentioned above, there may already be some aspects in place, I just haven't used /realm purchase yet since the new system.

Please give your opinions, as this Idea is just and Idea to make the new system a little more efficient than it already is.

My problem with this is that most realms wouldn't even be able to be purchased.

Just changing the text returned by typing /realm purchase ought to be enough. No need to try listing the full details in the little minecraft chat window, but just something like: "Has this realm been previously owned? If so, you may need permission to buy it: see [insertURLhere] for details." This would address the issue of players who aren't active on the forums being unaware of the new rules, and seems easy enough to implement.

I don't see any need to make it truly impossible to buy a realm unless permission has been granted. It would be more complicated to implement (e.g. checking whether a realm has had a recent disband, checking whether the realm is within 500 blocks of spawn, checking whether a player has been given permission for the realm in question based on the application form). On a related note, checking a specific player's permissions for a specific purchase would require staff to update that information in-game in addition to contacting the player to communicate the results of the application. More stuff for staff to do per application = longer wait after submitting an application.

No for several unlisted reasons for which I cannot speak about. But overall the second option sounds like too much hassle for Intelli he has so much on his plate already. As far as the first part I partial agree with it but again Intelli has a lot on his plate, maybe later on it can be added but then again it also falls under stuff I can't speak about so... ;)

The problem I see is if you can't do it if there are enough block logs... noob towers, and they're all over and pop up constantly. Some new player will join and will probably dig about a bit, or place a couple blocks on your land. So just because someone put a few dirt blocks on your piece of ground, you can't buy it? Sounds stupid to me.

Voted no, because of the reasons stated above.
