Are we starting a new or are we being allowed to keep our items/credits?

About opting in for realm wipes, I assume everything gets wiped including chests?

I would say to include the nether with the wipe, just so it starts anew as well and players can help "secure" nether bases and mob spawns.

Also about mob spawners with the wipe can they be made so players cant break them?

I do wonder about #1 (biome updating for clarity), how will it affect structures or builds?

I believe what he means is a technical biome change--the blocks won't change, but it will be count as a different biome for the purposes of precipitation, grass color, etc.

No, there have been no terrain changes in the Nether

Would you mind if I start an Idea thread for a Nether wipe to occur at the same time as the 1.7 land wipe, to see what the community thinks about it? Or is a Nether wipe absolutely not an option?

Personally I'm keen for the server to feel as "fresh" as possible after the wipe, and a nether wipe would do that - both the overworld and the nether would then be new and wild, so the community would need to band together to push new roads through again. That can only be good for community spirit and might even give bored vets something to get involved with again (lookin' at you, Spritzo ).

Okay, not most of it. I'd be really bummed if Nether Spawn and the main roads were destroyed, though. I mean, it took work to make all the portals and other locations fit together like that, and be neat, too. Not to mention the public blaze spawner and the wither spawn pads.

It's kind of difficult to decide wether to keep old and (badly) griefed realms with land or swap them for ocean...

And: will the Wilderness be wiped too? I know I'm stupid for having made a big base there - honestly, it was the best thing I ever built in minecraft.
I suppose it will be wiped, but it was a great time I had there and I'm looking forward to the new terrain!

I was SOO looking forward to the "/realm wipe" command but this seed puts me totaly under water.
and the only thing thats even worse than griefed land/stupidly big mountains is lots of water.

I say yes to Intelli and yes to a new seed that fits all (i just mean, noone needs ocean).

That's just an example seed to show what the overview generator produces, not the selected seed. Intelli is saying that Staff will select a suitable seed using overview maps like the example
