Problem
One land wipe on its own will leave us with 50x50 really out of place realms. For example a extreme hills biome 50x50 realm is placed in the middle of the ocean after the wipe. If you have played minerealm for a while you probably have noticed some of these huge misplaced realms.
Solution
The idea is very basic. Allow staff to wipe realms even after the big public land wipe, however they would only be able to wipe beta 1.8 land and once it was updated it would no longer be available to be wiped.
Why not have just one public wipe?
Well for a few reasons. Players that are active now will not always be that active and likely their realms will disband leaving abandoned griefed realms with old beta 1.8 land. By allowing staff to handle the realm wipes, they can check out the old realm and manually wipe it, giving new 1.7 land that fits right into the map! Also this will be very interesting game play by making new land open up every now and than yielding new things to explore!
Benefits
-Players will get to preview the realms they own after the wipe, to decide if they want to wipe it.
-Staff can wipe old disbanded and griefed realms.
-Map will flow together much better as time goes by and realms disband.
-New terrain will regenerate constantly as old realms disband.
Cons
-No cons. Staff would be handling the manual wipe.
Note: Minerealm would have a general public land wipe, then after that staff would manually wipe realms.
Please ask questions if clarification is needed, and note its not final we will do a public land wipe but its very likely. Please feel free to give input on this.
