First of all. I know almost every single one of you have something special with this map. There are some absolutely incredible builds and projects, but there are 10x more terrible builds that clutter the entire map.

The map just looks like puke. Its 2 years old and its just going south now. The wilderness is basically nothing but Jungle biome and no one even builds there anyways because it would mean losing all their possessions in the main world. My suggestion will counter that and bring a nicer looking landscape to Minerealm.

Actual Suggestion Part: Either wipe the map completely and go with MineRealm 5.0 or expand the map to 20,000 x 20,000.

The 20k x 20k expansion will easily solve everyone's problems. People are building on top of one another. No one will lose their previous work, all it will add to the game is a little more land for people to start new or expand their creations and ideas on a new landscape. Its virtually impossible to assemble an impressive build anymore with the lack of clean public land.

I only would suggest the complete map wipe after the next biome update and thats it.

Pros:
- Cleaner map
- More land for nicer builds
- Less new people complaining there is no where to build
- Extend the life of Minerealm for easily 6-12 months.

Cons:
-I see absolutely no downsides to the expansion. Just the usual Intelli rewriting a tiny line of code.
-Complete map wipe is something that is a soft spot to everyone, so I wouldn't expect this to go through, for at least until the next biome update.

I would support another wipe of just public land.

Plus this would bring in biome features we don't currently have in the newly regenerated territory.

Edit: I don't know anything about the future of MineRealm, the next updates being implemented by Intelli, or what he wants to do in general with us. Apologies if the plans were stated in another topic.

I've got a con for the expansion, and the reason why we decided on 10k x 10k. Have a 10k x 10k is 100,000,000 square blocks. Doubling that to 20k x 20k would make it 400,000,000. That would quadruple the space required on the hard drive. Our map is already very large for a minecraft map. When we were deciding the limits on this map size, Intelli looked at how much space it would take up, and how much that would impact the server's performance (larger map = more work to load stuff = worse performance is what I recall him saying). There were reasons why we ended up with a 10k x 10k map, despite pretty much everyone on staff wanting a larger one.

An extension would help... but eventually we'd have the same kinds of messes we currently have, but as kero mentioned, we'd also have 4x as much space on the hard drive to contain those messes.

If there's a specific noobhut / other mess you want to clean up, talk to the staff and they'll check to see if it would be ok. In the meantime, I hope this umpteenth map wipe suggestion gets promptly rejected or marked invalid like the rest.

All I can say is we are going to have to do SOMETHING to MineRealm's public land to make it look fresh once again so new, and even old players will enjoy there time playing. We are off to a pretty good start for the fact most people are saying yes to adding in trees again. But I am definitely a supporter to the people wanting fresh public land.

I think it would be better if we wiped all public realm surfaces back to their original state and/or did not roll back any ores (this would be duping/non vanilla) then we could do Intellis' tree thing at the same time

I think public realm map wipe when these two aspects are implemented into MineCraft.

If done before, it'll just be us shooting ourselves in the feet.

I don't think that there should be a TOTAL map wipe, but a wipe of all the public land, would be very nice. It would clean things up and allow the server to be more professional.

I vote yes on wiping ONLY the public land.

There is way (WAY) more public land than private. If your land looks bad, fix it. More space would not help you do that. The only reason to expand or wipe the map is that you want newly generated land that hasn't been mined or built on. For that, apart from the wild, there's single player and other servers.

This map wipe/ expansion plan, does it involve keeping the current seed? or using a new one? if using a new one I am not okay with it cause it would mean having to relocate realms and cities if they appear in the sky or the oceans abyss.
