Swears are filtered in-game in chat and now even on signs. Why not filter it in the forums?

Any word that is considered a 'swear' in-game will be filtered on the forums if posted. For example, if I were to type a certain four letter swear (you pick which one), it will look like '****' once posted.

End.

Bumping this. People who voted no, I am interested as to why.

☺.
I checked past suggestions and didn't find any that proposed this idea. I could have made a horrendous oversight, but the probability of that is quite low.

Maybe Intelli has announced that a similar concept will be implemented, but I missed that?

Mostly because I'm concerned about the work involved. When people swear in-game, either HelpBot gets them, or staff, or someone complains and they are banned when staff gets around to it. My point is that the last one doesn't always happen, since it requires work on a player's part to document the swearing and posting a request on the forums.

If you swear on the forums, you will get banned. Staff will notice.

So the question is, is the effort put into keeping the forums clean more or less than the effort required to implement this? If this was worth doing, I suspect it would have been.

The part in bold is the part I am concerned about. While it would inevitably be noticed eventually, some people might see it before it is removed. Of course taking the extreme end, it could be psychologically damaging to a younger individual (although a small possibility since most youngsters nowadays seem to have dirtier mouths than we do), this mostly eliminates the possibility of that happening. Also if this is implemented, it would be less of a burden on staff and we will never have to read the string of swears that someone posts on a rejected ban appeal.

More people need to vote.

Vote!

If you vote no, please explain why as well. I like the criticism to improve my suggestions.
