I'm am making a formal in-game ban request for shotgun2010 for having an unmarked player trap on his realms.
This trap was blatant luring with doors leading to an item room of sorts.
I am also demanding my items be returned which were collected in the hopper at the bottom of the trap.

Co-ords - -3275/-825

Edit: If ALL my items are returned I will withdraw this ban request!
A list can be provided if necessary to the best of my memory.

That looks like luring to me, especially given that the realm MOTD invites players to view the item room. I think it is reasonable to assume that the item room should be safe and not a trap.

I don't want to see shotgun2010 banned over this, but I would like to see Bu1ld0g's items returned and the trap either decommissioned or the signage and MOTD changed.

I'm not a fan of people being banned either TeeJay, but rules are rules and this was luring.
As I said above, I'm happy to withdraw with no further reprise if my items are returned

I would like to withdraw this ban request as I have spoken to shotgun in-game and we have resolved the issue and my items were returned.

Wow.... Im wondering how many players have fallin in there. Im sure you not the only one. Having an entire realm dedicated to lure players I and killing them? Things like this are just common sense....

+1 even if you get the items back you probly arnt the only one this has happened too (He really needs to give everything looted back)....

Only two people have fallen in the trap as far as i know - Bulldog and a friend of mine who is a member in my realms. The realm's function is not to kill players, nor is it in any way a "lure". The MOTD and sign have been altered, and this ban request was withdrawn.

The realm motd is "Feel free to donate or view the item room". Then the "item room" is made of rich blocks labled item room. If this isnt a lure, and the realms function is not meant to kill players what is?

If the signs and MOTD have been changed, and the items returned i see no reason why posts should continue here, it looks like it's been dealt with.

Just to clarify, this trap was constructed at a time when Shotgun and I were enduring a higher than normal rate of griefing around our realms, the chicken coop in particular, which at that time was in public land, must have been griefed around four times in one particular week (fortunately the admins were very quick and helpful in repairing the damage). As a result, a decision was taken to attempt to weed out would-be griefers and looters by enticing them with the prospect of free items, a trap which Shotgun received staff approval to construct. The trap was never designed as a ploy to lure experienced players and acquire high value items, merely to try and weed out griefers. Honestly, I think only a handful of people have ever fallen into the trap and we've never recovered more than a few melons and stone picks. As mentioned by Bulldog, the issue has been resolved, the items returned and the motd has been changed so as not to allow other well-intentioned players to accidentally fall foul of the trap.

On another note, if Bulldog, or any other player would like to look round the item room then either myself or Shotgun would be happy to show you around, just drop us a message (but don't use the trap entrance!).

ok... sorry.. but I just have to ask, can you be banned for luring a player into a player trap, when there are signs on it saying anything like "player trap ---->" ?
