Portal Camping happens because that is the highest traffic place in the nether. (Thus more people to kill, etc.)

Furthermore, we don't spawn camp. Spawn Camping isn't illegal, but it's lame. Unfortunately, it just is bound to happen. I mean, when you see someone in the nether, you don't just wait for him to move somewhere, you engage. Sometimes, you get locked into combat close to the portal and it just looks like spawn camping. But those people that just sit at spawn waiting for people to go through... yeah that's lame.

It seems that there should be a rival to this Nether Platoon. Of course, I wouldn't be the one to remedy this because I don't like the idea of throwing my armor and weapons to people that have no use for them in a PvP encounter gone wrong. I think it would be more interesting if there wasn't just a single PvP superpower that ruled the Nether. I think there should be another group not committed to killing members not a part of their organization, but committed to protecting players going into the Nether to gather resources. Of course, that won't happen until someone steps up and makes a group such as that, and as stated before, I'm not up to it.
