In the past I have mentioned how the End has been a wasted opportunity to bring a new challenge to MineRealm. The End should be open for building and you should be able to return from it, seeing as it poses such oppurtunity for challenge. However, this cannot be done for obvious reasons. With the methods below, the End could be open again, and the End return portal reenabled.
A major reason the End return portal was removed was that the end would be a huge source of xp/mobs (ruin the xp trade and cause large amounts of lag). Thus, I propose that endermen spawn rates be severely nerfed in the End, reducing them to levels that are easily handled by the server and making the end unexploitable as a source of xp. Say, 99 out of 100 enderman spawn possibilities do not happen through coding intervention.
Next, make realms able to be purchased exactly as in the overworld, to provide a chance to actually build structures without risk of getting greifed. This would attract many players who seek a new challenge, seeing as the End has a completely different building environment, far more lethal and harder to build in, but with a way more open canvas.
The End can not have pvp auto enabled. Hackers would have huge advantages if it did, seeing as their fly and speed hacks would provide them with the ability to fling people off the edge and avoid dying from the Void (negative y-axis zone).
Much like in current spawn, roads would have to be built so that realms can be bought without scaffolding your way off of another building. Still, as long as the roads were enforced to not be greifed or removed, building should be fine.
The final step would be to make the End far more accessible, such as forcing end portal realms to have easy/obvious open access to the End portal. I understand the owners of these realms could be slightly miffed about it, but it would be necessary to make sure people can go to the End and do all the things pointed out above.
Pros:
- End enabled for building, a new frontier for the super wealthy and bored
- End stone will drop from its absurdly high price
- Higher circulation of ender pearls
- A stunning new set of builds and view, floating towers of unparalleled heights, reaching from the bottom of the world to the top at their max.
- An easy comeback to those who complain that they're 'bored'.
Cons:
- Potential monopoly of end stone for those who buy the end stone realms first.
- Large chunks of coding for Intelli, therefore a while before it becomes implemented.
If I have missed any reasons for removing the End return portal that have not been addressed, please tell me.
No irrelevant spam or plus/minusing, please. Only mention what you voted for if you have a specific idea of what would not work, or a solution to something that would not work, or both.
