I am thinking of making an underground maze in the style of abandoned mineshafts underneath my recently purchased realms near spawn.

I was thinking of having an entry fee of some assortment of items and a prize to any who completed it.

Suggestion: set up some sticky piston-based hidden doors that can be remotely triggered from a "control room" accessible only to you, such that opening one door but closing another changes the solution to the maze. Would add a ton of replay value, and if you hide the doors a bit (e.g. stone blocks controlled by sticky pistons rather than an obvious iron door), it wouldn't be obvious to players where they should look for new pathways on their next pass through the maze.

Loving this idea will definitely add this, so I need 500+ sticky pistons.

Entry fee to the maze I have not decided yet but I am going to as a reward have "tickets" like at a fair/carnival which can be redeemed for prizes.

The tickets will be books that have been signed by myself so no-one can forge them. (essentially creating a secondary form of currency other than credits)

Aswell as the large maze there are going to be a couple of smaller mazes with different themes each with rewards of "tickets".

Also a couple of parkour challenges again with "tickets".

Prizes will range from the simplest of things to full diamond armour sets each with a different price in "tickets".

Not to be "that guy" but weren't you all gung ho about building a giant volcano island in the water? How well did that work out for you?

I think a buyer beware is in order seeing as how you are asking for donations, that most people would be happy to extend, IF what you are planning actually comes to fruition.

Seeing as the scope of the project is quite extensive, color me skeptical.

Worked out quite well I made a huge profit selling all the realms and hollowing 6 of them, the reason I stopped that project was I saw no long term use for it whereas my current one does, I may be restarting the volcano project without the hollowing of all the realms next time around after my current project. Very few know what my current project is but once it is complete it will become clear as to why the volcano project was postponed.

If I was to take donations and did not complete this project I would return the items to the people who donated them, I have a good reputation on this server which I wouldn't want to tarnish by asking for donations and not using them for their intended purpose or not at all.

If I was to receive no donations the only thing I would really need is slime balls which I can buy or farm. The other items are easily obtainable or bought.

Edit: I cant actually start anything yet as I am waiting to get my realms off ste25 and dundy

edit edit: this isn't going to be a completely solo project like the volcano island so wont be overwhelmed with mining, I will be asking for support from the community to grab a pick and "diggy diggy hole"
