I was banned for xraying. After hallowing 4 realms and leaving the diamond ore for last. I halfway anticipated what might happen if I actually did go round to all the diamond ore at once. So I asked in chat hoping to get some confirmation about what I should do about getting the ore at that point. Some people said there was a 20 ore per 5 minute limit, but this didnt seem right because I had already mined 25 ore. I decided to just leave the rest for that day and what on doing other things. Then I came back the next day and got a few more. Then, today after doing some other chores I went back down to the bottom of my dig area to get the rest of the diamond ore and remove my beacon. While I was mining the very last deposit I was instantly banned for xray courtesy of a message on my screen.
Fortunately I took screen shots of my dig to prove my innocence.
I have never installed an xray mod or texture pack or any hacking client what so ever. I admit my stupidity however in not consulting staff about my questionable situation, but I have no idea how the xray ban system works. I thought if I was going to be banned for xraying it would have been when I started getting 25 ore in as much time it took me to run around the bottom of a few realms which took all of maybe 3 minutes not 5.
I had some idea that the system could tell whether those blocks had already been made visible by being mined around. Again, it just goes to show how little I know about these sorts of mechanics. I also would like to know if the same thing would have happened if I had mined out the same area and silked each of the deposits when I came to them. I plan on hallowing more realms around my base and I don't want this to ever happen again. I hope this can resolved as quickly possible.
