Something odd I've noticed recently is that there are persistent entities in the Nether. Even when the server is quiet and nobody is in there, /serverhealth will report that "Entities in World_Nether: 1" or higher. I brought it to Rokkr's attention the other day when over the course of about 36 hours it had increased from 1 to 2, and then to 3 entities. Eah's server restart then fixed it and I presumed it was all good.
Again today though I noticed that there is a persistent entity back in the nether. It seems the nether chunks are remaining loaded even when nobody is in there. It's noticable for me because my normal wither skelly hunting strategy is to wait until the nether is empty, check the spawn pads for skellies and then leave / re-enter via a portal to reload the nether and therefore load a new set of mobs. That doesn't work while there is a persistent entity - the same mobs are there when I return as were there when I left.
Just a heads up - not sure of its significance or whether it is a bug
