Yes, but how long does it take to get to it? It's all just a matter of time, eventually someone will come along with x-ray and see it. That is the problem.
Eventually? Some of these chests have been there since the FIRST DAY of the map, and have yet to be touched. I'm completely confident they could hold out until the end of the year, if chance were given. The problem is that people want to have their hands held, because the scary thieves may try to take there trinkets. If you lose stuff to a thief, you didn't hide it well enough.

Your starting to sound like Lightbulbs cog... You do have a point, but with developing hacks, in the near future our chests will be able to be seen from a mile around, hidden or not.

Chest locking should be optional. This way, those who feel their chests are invincible can hide them wherever, and those who want just that little bit of extra security can have it. I don't see why you are having such a problem with it Cog... Unless you're a thief too!

Let's say you have a bike, but you weren't given a lock. Now you can hide that bike very well to lower the chance of a thief finding and taking it, but there is STILL a chance of it being stolen. Now if you hid your bike very well PLUS you were able to lock it to something, then even if the thief did find it, he can't steal it.

Basically, chest locking is just insurance. There's no reason NOT to have it, and even then don't leave your chests lying around in the open.

I think you have something there, if chest locking is insurance then it should be something you would pay for in rc's. And it wouldn't promote irresponsibility for players, as panthers said.

I'm amazed people still think chest protecting is a viable option, simply because it saves time having to do actual work to protect stuff.

Why don't we just give you the ability to spawn items, since you don't want to waste time getting it yourself? And building stuff is such a hassle, Minerealm should come with Chinese Sweatshops filled with people dedicated to building your ideas, so you don't have to.
