I'm sorry, but in MY country we always get OUR gumball machines already full.
And how does he know the colours are in equal amounts? Did he count?
Rarely factory machines have THAT level of precision. And if he CAN count that means he must be able to get inside the bowl, because some would be obscured by other gumballs. And if he can do that he can just reach in and fish one out.

Or just buy a crowbar and bash the machine until you get the gumballs out, if the counting WAS completed by machine.

2 things here,
1. You can't divide 100 by 3 evenly unless you made a gumball that's all three colors...

2. All the money you have as cob will force you to spend all your money until he has that rainbow gumball.

Actually you can... with deductive reasoning and/or discrete mathematics.
Since we need to solve for the worst case scenario we can deduce the extra gumball is red or blue the color is irrelevant we know it cannot be green. As well the fact I took out a green gumball previously is also irrelevant to solving this problem. All that matters is that we now know we have 67 red and blue gumballs and that only after removing them can I guarantee the next gumball will be green. Therefore the answer must be 68 * .25c = $17.00
