I said no, if noobs get a realm faster than usual, there will be less public land, therefore more complaining from other noobs of no land to build on, and if a noob buys a plit of land someone else has built on, what would happen to the community alltogether?

sorry lard i have to say no i earned my first 10k with only stone tools to use it took me 2 weeks and i dont think anyone should have any special treatment if they dont have the patience to digg then there not worthy a place in the MR Order. we all had to fight like animals to get those first 10k they shall do the same. see it as a test separating the Future VETS from the Noobs.

Also, more new players complaining about land, MORE dirt structures from undedicated new players (now with protection!) and probably more if I thought harder. So yeah, I voted no.
Unfortunately 9/10 of new players are lazy, 0.5 cr per block to get to 10,000 is too much work for a lot of them. Most new players are playing for a couple of days then leave. I have seen hundreds of people over the last few weeks come and go in a matter of days.

Back in the day when we began playing minecraft there weren't many mods, if we wanted something in survival we had to get it, this new generation of minecraft players are used to mods and kits on servers where they are spoon fed until they can fend for themselves. They just need a gentle push in the right direction.
...So they should be spoon fed and practically given their things? There's a reason this is a survival game. You gotta learn to survive.

I do not see your logic here, why is someone going to buy land and only build a dirt hut, most people will have a sense of achievement in the fact that they have bought their own land that will then encourage them to make it look nice and not like a dump. Ok there may be some people who really don't care about what their realm looks like but that happens now anyway in public land and some private realms.
So, new player joins. New player get credits. New player buys realm and starts house (doesn't finish), or makes some crap. New player either thinks their house is good, because they're, you know, new ooorrr they say "asdfghjkl; i deyed 2 mani tiemz i iz be leefin", and in both scenarios, leaves their crap. You said it yourself, there's some regulars who don't care about their land, why should a new player?

And since credits will be worth less, prices go up.
Also, another problem. New players'll buy more land, and the other new players will go "omg ys thar nu lund" more than they already do.

Getting 10k does not take long whatsoever, sorry Lard.

I got my first 10k in a day. I do not expect everyone to get such a large amount so quickly, but if you can't put in the effort to get a mere 10k, you shouldn't get land to reflect that effort.

I understand what you are all saying. The thing is with so many people coming and going and not sticking around more dirt huts keep popping up. Very few of them are sticking around. More and more new people are joining everyday. We are nowhere near running out of public realms I couldn't give you a figure but it is definitely something we don't need to start worrying about. Unfortunately all the people who are against this are veterans or near veterans who feel this would be unfair that new players get help to get their first realm. This isn't about making it easier for new players or giving them everything and not having them work for it. It makes it a little easier to earn their first 10,000 but this is about trying to get more players to stay on the server.

Errr... that makes it sound like we're jealous.... nope. It's because most people on the forums have been on for a while, so it's a coincidence, and because part of Minecraft's fun is surviving. I mean, if this game gets too much easier I'd probably stop playing it entirely. So, why should we do this? I leave servers faster when there isn't a struggle to get things.

Haha, I'm a vet and voted yes, simply because I know how it feels. And youknow, there's this thing called teleporter at spawn that teleports you to public land.

Oh, yup, forgot about that. That gets rid of the public land "ermagerd i caint fint eet" problem. There's still the other problems though :/ Oh, and also, I didn't mean all vets voted yes, just clearing that up in case that's what you thought I meant.

A couple of points I would like to make:

Public land is not going to run out any time soon.

More and more veterans are leaving the game.

We need new players to boost up the population.

We need these new players to stick around long term.

We do not want to lose the sense of community in MR.

Making it a little easier for new players to get their first 10k will not have an impact on the rest of us.

Not all new players will build great things but neither do the current players who have lots of realms.

I know some of you feel it would be unfair that new players get help but look at the bigger picture, we need MR to carry on, that wont happen without new players who stick around.

Now a little scenario.

10 new players join, hop in the teleporter at spawn, build little mud huts and wooden shacks. Make a small amount of credits then leave.
This at the moment is repeated daily.

With the suggestion implemented.

10 new players join, hop in the teleporter at spawn, build little mud huts and wooden shacks. Notice their credits going up, getting closer to 10k. When they reach 10k they buy a realm. I would imagine atleast 5 out of those 10 would build something respectable in their realm.
