Also, more new players complaining about land, MORE dirt structures from undedicated new players (now with protection!) and probably more if I thought harder. So yeah, I voted no.
Unfortunately 9/10 of new players are lazy, 0.5 cr per block to get to 10,000 is too much work for a lot of them. Most new players are playing for a couple of days then leave. I have seen hundreds of people over the last few weeks come and go in a matter of days.
Back in the day when we began playing minecraft there weren't many mods, if we wanted something in survival we had to get it, this new generation of minecraft players are used to mods and kits on servers where they are spoon fed until they can fend for themselves. They just need a gentle push in the right direction.
...So they should be spoon fed and practically given their things? There's a reason this is a survival game. You gotta learn to survive.

I do not see your logic here, why is someone going to buy land and only build a dirt hut, most people will have a sense of achievement in the fact that they have bought their own land that will then encourage them to make it look nice and not like a dump. Ok there may be some people who really don't care about what their realm looks like but that happens now anyway in public land and some private realms.
So, new player joins. New player get credits. New player buys realm and starts house (doesn't finish), or makes some crap. New player either thinks their house is good, because they're, you know, new ooorrr they say "asdfghjkl; i deyed 2 mani tiemz i iz be leefin", and in both scenarios, leaves their crap. You said it yourself, there's some regulars who don't care about their land, why should a new player?
And since credits will be worth less, prices go up.
Also, another problem. New players'll buy more land, and the other new players will go "omg ys thar nu lund" more than they already do.
