a lot of players are currently joining from a certain series of youtube videos, but those are generally undesirables.

hey... i resent that i found the server from one of said videos and never asked for op nor have i ever broken a rule not to mention im active and chat often and give things away for free to people in need of it if i have.

and instead of sitting around twiddling my thumbs i make things, mine,enchant,merch, ect and am a productive member of this community

Key word: generally. If you joined MineRealm because of that certain video series and you are not banned yet (Which you are not), then you are not of the 'general' populace. You are special. That's a good thing.

I'd share my view of what I think will happen over time with the server, but I don't think people would take too kindly to it.

I have my doubts that minerealm last another 4-5 years.
1-2 at best I think.
I believe we need to put more videos on youtube with positive rep rather than the majority of them being from you know who. As for PvP, why? Why is PvP so important? I have found it always annoying, expensive and risky.

maybe if Intelli didn't constantly advertise we would have less new players and more known vets and 2-year vets.

EDIT: I'm sure that stopping the advertising would be beneficial to Intelli's pocket too xD

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure we haven't had paid advertising since December. Currently most of the new people are coming from that idiot's videos which is why some of the noobs have seemed particularly dumb lately.

You might be right. Unless I'm mistaken, thought, our server shows up on some sites where people search for different types of servers, and even though we aren't a raiding or griefing server, when people search for those minerealm shows up because it was paid to show up on each page. That might have been an old thing, though, it might not be going on currently.

That's the series of advertising I'm referring to. It expired after a certain period of time back in December or January. Now, most of the people coming to MR thinking it's a griefing/raiding server are thinking that because of those videos.

So you'd leave to start again on another server as appose to starting again on this server?
Either way you'd be starting over...
