Just a few quick little suggestions regarding some things that should/could be available on creative:

new blocks:

Spiderweb:
Looks great as smoke... thats about it.

Double stone slabs: Double stone slabs insures you don't have to work from the bottom up when working with half blocks. Especially useful for when halftone blocks are being used for texturing and not the fact that they're halves.

There might have been something else. If there was i forgot.

A more radical suggestion:

Permissions based water/lava placement. I cant stand anything with permissions on my server, but im sure someone could pull it off (if anyone can, Intelli can [hey! that rhymes!])
So someone like an admin or a mod could authorize players to use water/lava.
To give an extra inventory slot, how about gold and iron are grouped.

(allowing flying like this would be cool as well, just for classic. so Notch's anti-fly is disabled and Intelli's is enabled but with a permission system allowing some players through. Just an idea!!! Maybe strictly for players with more than 1 week total play time, in hours)

I know this is all unlikely but i'm sure some people would at least like those blocks!

All very interesting. I don't like the new blocks though. But the water and lava thing would be nice. The only thing is though it give griefers an easier way to grief.

you say it would give griefers more tools to grief with.
imagine this: everyone has the blocks in their inventory but they can only be placed once a command has been issued allowing players to use them. so an mod/admin might type '/lava' (player) and then they could use lava. Mods and admins know who they can trust. This would just save the mods time every time someone requests lava or water in a structure. The time programming it could outweigh the time wasted for mods/admins doing it for people.
Also, may i ask why you dont like the new blocks? they are already programmed into the game and you cannot get much less legitimate than a creative server. Spiderweb could be a griefers tool, so i agree with you there, but the double half blocks are a much easier and faster way to work with half blocks.

Okay, okay. I forgot about the command to let people place the water and lava. Bad on my part. I do see what you mean though. The blocks would be a good addition. The spiderwebs cold be used as a griefing toll but I doubt it. I like the idea now. Hope it gets implemented soon.

Yeah we should. There need to be limitations. Do you know how much easier it would be to grief if we put this, dare I say it, hack, into the game?

To build a tower: Select a block. aim at ground. jump while placing. Jump off and repeat. Repeat until you are satisfied with result.

To make details: build circles around what you want to edit, and make a staircase going up to it. add details. Take down circles.

Honestly, it really isn't rocket science.

Scaffolds are annoying to remove. I spend as much time adding/removing scaffolds when spriting as I actually spend spriting. If I could fly around, I could spend less time preparing to build as actually building, therefore allowing me to have even more time to build. More building time would let us make more awesome creations, which would make people want to stay on the server and add their own.

It would also crowd the server a lot more if flying was allowed. Creations would be built everywhere, and creative would be crowded within weeks. It already is being rapidly crowded. We already added infinite blocks, I don't think we need it to add this as well.
