There are alot of concepts that our server talks about pretty much on a daily basis. You don't have to answer all of these, I'd just like some feedback to see where the people stand on everything. Thanks.
A.Enabling PVP (identify whether you support restricted pvp, as in certain areas or conditions, or unrestricted: anywhere)
B.Enabling TNT (same deal with PVP)
C.Enabling Fire (spreadable or nonspreadable)
D.Allowing Creepers to destroy blocks (they currently do, there is talk of not letting them do that)
E.Strengthening of hostile mobs (stronger attacks, more health, more mobs, powerful creeper explosions, etc.)
F.Creation of Realms (following minerealm 2.0's guidelines for realms, read the thread)
G.Whitelisting
H.Server Reset (would be to implement realms, new chunks, awesome-er terrain, etc.)
EDIT: Thanks for the input. I just like hearing where the server stands. Here are what my responses would be:
A. As cerevox mentioned in a different thread, unrestricted PvP would mean that any idiot that joined could just run around punching people. I believe in 2.0's suggestion of the restricted PvP, as it gives us more of a say in the matter and allows for cities to act as "safe havens".
B. I'm honestly not worried about griefers getting their hands on it. I'm not saying it's impossible to come by, but if you're new to the server and all you have is a stone sword, you would have to hit up quite a few creepers while dealing with natural server lag, plus you would have to gather sufficient TNT. The benefits it would provide to intensive miners (such as building the subways) far outweigh the slight risks of griefers super-destroying something with it. Plus, admins/mods will be notified when it's placed, and if it's placed by someone they don't recognize, they can easily check it out and diffuse a possible grief.
C. I'm not sure about this. Some say they would prefer spreadable fires, and maybe it's just our wooden tree-farm talking, but I would not be in support of this. I would like to have non-spreadable fires, though, as they are good decoration and provide excellent lighting. Seeing a bunch of torches stuck in random places in the ground is a bit unsightly.
D. They definitely should retain their original purpose. Otherwise they wouldn't be the exciting mob they are today >>
E. I have to agree with eagle, I don't think we should change the mobs at all.
F. I am in support of this idea, and many have done a great job weeding out the possible technical problems with it, so it sounds pretty solid. I agree with jdankk that if Realms were to be implemented, it'd definitely have to be on a new map since it would be very difficult to expand Kurachi without building useless buildings.
G. At one point I would say "yes" to this because it'd limit griefers/ people looking to screw around, but at the same time it'd dramatically drop the amount of players we have on here, and I like a populated server.
H. Again with letter F, I am very intrigued by the concept of realms, and so I will probably be, once enough updates come out that convince me to switch, in support of a total map reset. I'm not afraid to restart a city. I've made enough good friends on the current map that starting anew will be just as, if not more exciting.
