Brownie: A pro for this is obviously being the combination of a cake and chocolate, where the only other baked good that boasts so is chocolate cake. An additional pro is the fact that this dish is ALWAYS allowed to be brought to a social convention. The only con I can think of is the discrepancy between edge pieces, and how many lives have been lost over opinionated arguments about them.
Cookie: This is a broad category. That's why the variety of cookies is an instant pro. Another pro would be the fact that cookies can make for the perfect snack in specific occasions, mainly holiday ones. A con would be that many people try to make frivolously strange recipes, resulting in many disgusting cookies.
Pancake: It's shocking how one food can dominate the category of breakfast. The only logical contenders would be French toast, waffles, and bacon. Although good contenders, pancakes are better, or at least more classic. That would count as one pro. Another would be the fact that it's not easy to mess up pancakes, especially for diners, and any food that tastes good all around down deserves another pro in the list. One con though, is that it's strictly a breakfast food. Ever try to order pancakes for diner?
Donut: 'Dunkin donuts' is perhaps the best chain restaurant that serves food that cases obesity all around the United States. I guess that counts as a pro. An additional one is that apple cider donuts are a gift straight from baby Jesus. A con would be that they can't be homemade easily if at all, and many other places (restaurants, diners, friends' homes)may not be able to make good donuts too.
Shortbread: Meh.
Chocolate Bar: This should fall under the sweets category. Regardless, I will write up a short paragraph about it. Chocolate can be melted, and when done it can make fruits or other foods taste like Chuck Norris's tastebuds are kneeling before you. Another pro is that people have decided that it's apparently healthy, and although this is true, it's still just an excuse to eat it. ('Murcia) A con would be that milk chocolate is the only tasty kind IMO, and the other ones sometimes make me cry rivers because I thought they were milk chocolate at first.
Sweets: Seriously? Should I even tackle this? It's way too broad. First pro is that you can pick a favorite candy, and then you have found a perfect mate. Additionally, sweets are means of propaganda, bribery, and other social manipulations. It's a lot harder to ask somebody to get the mail while slipping them a pancake then it is to do so while giving them a few skittles. Assuming that one would vote for sweets under the basis that they are voting or candies that they LIKE, there isn't a logical con because the category would bring to mind the ideal candy. (They aren't baked goods either, or most of them, so I'm assuming the categories includes the non-baked ones.)

Other: I'd suggest cakes, or perhaps some non conventional pastries such as fancy breads.

Your poll choices are interesting. Someone should make a pro's/con's list for each and why we should/shouldn't vote for each... food, listed.

Other: Admin's breath frozen into a solid. By our standards, this is not baked , but relatively, compared to absolute zero, it is quite warm.

the best flan is alwys finished in an oven water bath rather than a stovetop steam... it allows the bottom a smoother texture and evenily bakes the caramel to the top.

But seriously, I've had flan, and I didn't like it that much. It was basically tasteless pudding covered in bitter concentrated vanilla syrup.

Skylord, I imagine a baked VVolfie would be delicious, but I'm vegetarian, so I do not contemplate such sordid matters.
