I have just been banned for "Flying"

I did not fly and have no "Fly" mods or hacks installed.

I was building the high-rise sand wall around the Spawn Realm. I was sneak-placing the blocks to prevent me from falling down. All of a sudden i was banned.

The server has been very laggy/glitchy today so I suspect this was the reason the server "found"me to be flying.

Please look into this situation as soon as possible.

I just went in-game with my alt, Lord_Elsewhen, because im desperate. It was stupid and I apologize.

The reason I went in was because I wanted to see how the wall was progressing. I dont have any rights to that realm with the alt.I simply wanted to see what was happening.

Approximately 5 minutes before your banning, I noticed a player with a rather long username and a blue and gold skin fly up the sand wall to reach the top. The integrity of this player remains unknown as he/she was not able to be identified. I messaged a moderator about the sighting, but the player could not be targeted still. I let this event slip my memory as the hope of catching the culprit was lost. Then I noticed that you were banned for flying a coincidentally short time afterwards. I also noticed that you carry the same attributes, a long username and a blue and yellow skin, as the spotted culprit.

Nonetheless, I have no proof to back this up, although the moderator may chose to verify that I did spot somebody flying (not nearly sufficient proof, I am aware). Regardless, if you indeed are the culprit, I urge you to confess to your crimes rather than avoid them. If you are not, then I apologize for the accusation and hope you understand my efforts are intended for the good of server.

Interesting and totally plausable that you saw someone flying up there.

As Vvolfie can testify I too, today, made several similar sightings of flying players around the sand construct. It has been a curiousity to players joining MineRealm for the 1st time and yeah some of them flew straight up. Since I was up there already, building away, it was more "in my face" so I actually managed to see names and I notified Vvolfie at once. The chat logs will testify this. She would then show up and deal with the situation.

I believe I've traded with X in the past, and my thought is, why would he bother to start flying now after alllll this time...

Obviously a veteran imo, so why do something so easily detectable now?

Syntax is a great and trustworthy player on Minerealm. I highly doubt that he would hack, or use any mod. Judging by all the new people on minerealm lately, it wouldn't be hard to mistake someone for someone else hacking.

As said before me, Syntax has is a very trustable and venerable player. I highly doubt that he would be reckless enough to use a fly hack.

+1 I have been seeing Syntaxcorrection working diligently on his spawn realm build. After all the work he has done on it for the past several months, I doubt he would all of a sudden decide to hack out of nowhere. It is not in his nature.

At the time of banning, I was located at the realm next to Syntax. (the spiral staircase).
I have no hard prove, but I saw him working on the sand wall around Rips spawn-realm.
I remember having a bunch of lag as well.

I would love to see Syntax with a swift unban. Us danish people have to stick together :3

This is my daily bump.

I need to take this opportunity to express my opinion on the ban mechanics that I have fallen victim to.

Please take the time to read thru this carefully. Everything is of course "my opinion" but I believe it actually holds true as a standard for a responsible server.

Being banned automatically should "automatically" make Staff consider the following matter:

An automatic ban has to be triggered by certain conditions obviously.

However these conditions CAN, in the event of the automatic ban for "flying", be created by factors other than the player using an illegal mod, namely lag and glitch issues.

Therefore, any such ban should be open for immediate review to see if there are any situational factors that should be taken into account in the event that the player claims that he did in fact NOT "fly", which is in fact what my position is.

These situational factors are:

- Who is the player and what is his/her history?

- What was the player doing when the ban was triggered?

- Where did it happen?

- When did it happen?

- Did anyone else see what happened?

- Are there any directly mitigating circumstances that makes it highly unlikely that the player would use a "fly" mod?

- What exactly did the player write in his/her ban appeal?, since logically no apology can be given?

- In case the ban was triggered even though the player was using a clean (vanilla) Client, will the time (duration) the player is "falsely" banned cause serious inconvenience for said player?

- Are there any other "common sense" factors that should be considered in the player the benifit of the doubt?

In my case the answers would be as follows:

- Who is the player and what is his history?

I am a vet and a well known player to the community. I was never before banned for using an illegal minecraft mod. I am active in chat and have proven myself to be fair, friendly and helpfull towards others and the community as a whole.

- What was the player doing when the ban was triggered?

I was building a high-rise wall. My method was using "w" and "shift" to build 2 blocks on top of each other row after row for hours. I would on occasion have to require new sand and would get back up by "erasing" one sand column with a torch and then build myself upwards to the highest row to continue with the job.

- Where did it happen?

50 blocks from to the busiest spot on MineRealm: Spawn. And in full visibility.

- When did it happen?

During prime-time. LOTS of players were in the vicinity.

- Did anyone else see what happened?

TheJackDeck saw what he believed was me flying. Redkiller123 saw me, knowing it was me, building, while standing on the wall. TheJackDeck is not sure. Redkiller123 is sure.

- Are there any directly mitigating circumstances that makes it highly unlikely that the player would use a "fly" mod?

Vvolfie had prior to the ban been summoned by me because of players flying around the wall. Why would I notify her that ppl were using flymods and then use it myself just after, especially knowing that she could concievably still be around?

- What exactly did the player write in his/her ban appeal?, since logically no apology can be given?

In my case very much so: The reason I started to build the wall is because in now under 10 hours the realm in question will enter the 24-hour disband window. the realm is one of the only 16 most coveted realms on MineRealm.

Yes. I am an intelligent and responsible adult with a 10 year old kid. Even if I were a cheater, why would I risk using an easily detected "fly" feature while securing one of the most coveted realms on MineRealm in full view of LOTS of players around me with less than 48 before the realm is about to go public?

The simple and ONLY answer is: I didn’t fly.

In the event that the realm will go public before I am unbanned, I will not be able to recover from the devastation and disappointment of being unjustly banned at such a critical time.

Please take what I have written here into account.
