Burning duped items is harassment?

Duped obsidian? Really? You can make it extremely easily. I doubt anyone would be so desperate that they'd resort to duping it to obtain it.

I think he's implying that it was "duped" by staff in that it was rolled back.

Jackavs, that's generally my understanding of what he meant.

The target, in this case, was not a player by name, but rather "the person putting obsidian in builds".

I did not know who had built it. There is nothing there saying who had made it. There is one sign saying that repairs had been made, but that was before I had found it.

Its been a running project for several of us to upgrade the entire Witherspawn area and make it better for everyone. But I will admit I've probably got more hours invested in the entire area - the whole forest, the multiple platforms, and the three blaze spawners.... Spacecow did some nice renovations, and Majorpayn put alot of effort into improving Wither spawn rates by finding spawn chunks and maximizing the potential spawn surfaces. AnimusCrovis helped alot with the early expansion and identification of the fort outlines, and Burt86 has always been helpful there too..

There have been about four people regularly contributing and upgrading.....

When one person consistently is destroying, altering, trashing the spot, and marking their damage after doing it, then there really isn't any point in discussing the activity with anyone except staff, as it otherwise generally just devolves into drama I don't care for. I know I'm not the only player to bring the behavior to light, and I understand some of those players have attempted to talk to Frostybirth about it, but none of the responses seemed productive, and if anything just encouraged the continued behavior.

Up to this point the staff's responses have been "well, it is lootable block, but, it does sorta seem like the reasoning behind doing it is questionable..."

So - the purpose of the post - to get the consensus of the Staff on the nature of the behavior.

If you're looting and burning the blocks, then it definitely sounds like an action that is specifically being taken to be destructive and spiteful. But thats for Staff members to decide.

If its wrong, then they'll make their judgements - if they decide it isn't, then I won't waste any more time on projects for the public good.... It just becomes frustrating to find people defacing something for the sake of defacing it...

Generally speaking, I'm a friendly and pleasant player, and I'm always happy to help other people out and invite cooperative play.

I didn't say anything about banning anyone.

Since Frostybirth has been around for quite a while, I assume that means he "follows the rules" especially since in this case he's rule baiting doing what he's doing. So if they say not to grief the structure, I'd would think he'd stop.

Thats all I'd like, I don't see any reason to ban him.

Well just to put in my two cents.

I have used this spawner/wither skele pad area once or twice before. Rokkr showed me where it was so I could get some blaze rods (my first and only ones so far). I enjoyed the time other put in by others to make harvesting easy. I believe others, especially newbs, will someday take advantage of this area that others have so generously labored on. I may even have an opportunity in the future to lead a newb to the spawner for their first blaze rod (or maybe even a scull at the wither skele pad) and "Pay it forward". To sum it up - I think that area should be left alone. The nether is much smaller than the overworld and we all MUST share it.

I have been victim having to watch Frostybirth arguments over chat. While again, chat if for everyone and we have to share, I do not believe one (or two or three) person should "take hostage" even part of an area on the map or service on the server. All arguments are at least two sided and if people want to argue via chat so be it. But, in that case a 5 min argument should be taken to PM.

I have seen bans for griefing in the nether (portal griefs are bannable as per the rules) and I think this situation has crossed that boundary. As at least two staff members have stated, it is to be considered harassment. Harassment is bannable.

Frostybirth, if I see this kind of thing myself I will immediately post a Ban Request, do not pass go, do not collect $200. I am not staff. I am not trying to act like staff. I am not pretending I am staff in this situation. I will not know who did it and will simply post. I think what was stated by staff already empowers me to do so and cast the responsible party (for the grief that is) at their feet. If they think the "changes" made at that time do not warrant a ban then that is their decision. If, however, they do and you are the responsible party then you may be looking at a big fat ban.

This is where you're wrong. I have NEVER been asked by anyone about what I'm doing.
