EDIT: Got bored while server was down for me, so I wrote this
(New as Jun 25th)
Ships
Provided my push for realistically sized oceans pulls through, customizable ships may be a nice feature. Every ship needs:
Trees will now collapse realistically. If you chop a block off of a tree that is not the top, it will fall in the direction that you chopped it from. The portion of the tree above the cut will fall, the lower will remain. This would be very, very difficult to implement.
(New as of Mar 28th)
Items / Materials
The Barn
-A Barn Block is crafted from 3 Logs on the bottom and 6 planks filling in the rest.
-You must place Barn Blocks in a 4x4 cube for it to operate. After which, the individual blocks will take a linked and finished shape. This building becomes enter-able from the front.
The Process
-Once finished, you must begin constructing a fenced in area for the animals to stay.
-This introduces the Gate item, which can be attached to any fence block and it immediately operates like a door.
-The fenced in area must be 100% fenced, and must be at least 3x3 blocks. It must also be connected to the Barn on any side. The grass will be a different hue to signify that it has worked.
-Animals will naturally begin to try to flock towards the barn, so you must wait for at least one to enter before closing it off. This is how the animals are obtained.
-With 3x3, a maximum of one animal may graze. For every extra 5 blocks of area added to the pasture, another animal may graze.
-Every 2-4 days, the animal reproduce. The exact interval is random but is uniform for every farm unit.
-At each reproduction interval, the farm population increases by 150%.
-If the pasture is not large enough to support the animals, the appropriate amount will despawn after 12 in-game hours.
-If the fence is broken for more than half of an in-game day, all of the animals despawn.
Biomes
Drinks
-Water is now drinkable. Each bucket allows for 1 swig. Bucket is not destroyed during drinking. Restores 0.5 bars of health. Only useable once every minute.
-(New Item!) Hops: Grow and are harvested just like sugar cane. Used in the production of Beer.
-(New Item!) Beer/ Alcohol/Politically Correct Beverage: Recipe: 3 Sugar Cane across the bottom, water bucket in the middle, 3 hops across the top. Created recipe is then cooked in furnace. 1 Beer can be used 3 times, restoring 0.5 bars of health each time.
-(New Item!) Eggnog: Recipe: 1 bucket of milk in the middle, 1 egg top middle, recipe cooked in furnace. 1 Eggnog can be used 3 times, restoring 1.5 bars of health each time.
Fire Mechanics
-Smoke is now a physical effect that can travel through and up multiple blocks:
-Burning logs or wood products creates a black smoke stream that travels 6 blocks high (dissipates as it gets higher)
-Burning leaves creates a thicker white smoke stream that travels 9 blocks high and 1 block outward in every direction (dissipates as it gets higher) [see below for info about leaves]
-Erupting volcanoes produce a thick black smoke that travels to sky level and up to 8 blocks outward in every direction (from the mouth of the volcano). Forms an upside-down cone shape from the mouth.
Trees
-Willow Trees are added. Only occur in Swamps. Have drooping leaves.
-Rainforest Trees are added. Only occur in Rainforests. Have very high and leafy canopies and many branches as they get higher.
-Trees now grow faster when rain occurs (so naturally, rainforest trees grow faster)
Weather
-Clouds will indicate incoming rain and snow.
-Rain is now an effect. Doesn't occur in winter biomes. May raise water level below sea level by 1. Effect will remain for awhile after the rain or until storm drain is installed.
-Heavy rain is now an effect. Doesn't occur in winter or desert biomes. Limits visibility. May raise water level below sea level by 1. May cause flooding in poorly drained areas (See items). Effect will remain for awhile after the rain or until storm drain is installed.
-Snow is now an effect. Doesn't occur in lush or desert biomes.
-Blizzard is now an effect. Doesn't occur in lush or desert biomes. Slows movement. May generate snow blocks.
-Sandstorm is now an effect. Doesn't occur in lush or winter biomes.
-Heavy Sandstorm is now an effect. Doesn't occur in lush or winter biomes. May generate sand blocks. Limits visibility.
-Fog is now an effect in addition to the controllable fog that limits vision (so everybody has to deal with this fog). Can only occur in Swamp biomes.
Climate
-Snow can now be generated in winter biomes.
-Water can now freeze in winter biomes. Water near a source of heat will not freeze. Ice near a source of heat will melt.
-Water exposed to sunlight in a desert biome may evaporate.
-There is now always a natural Fog to make realistic terrain fading. In more humid biomes, the fog generated is much thicker.
Biomes
-There is now considerably more open sea to account for hurricanes and biome transitions.
-Transitions between biomes are now more smooth. Grass and dirt will now separate winter and desert biomes instead of them being right next to each other.
-Biomes are now considerably larger to account for the different weather types.
-Rainforest Biomes have an 80% chance of rain in each 24 hour period, with a 40% chance that it will be heavy rain. 0% chance of both snow and sandstorms.
-Swamp Biomes have a 50% chance of rain/24 hr with a 20% chance that it will be heavy rain. 0% chance of snow and sandstorms. Always in Fog.
-Seasonal Forest Biomes have a 30% chance of rain with a 10% chance that it will be heavy. 0% chance of snow and sandstorms.
-Forest Biomes have a 30% chance of rain with a 15% chance that it will be heavy. 0% chance of snow and sandstorms.
-Savanna Biomes have a 20% chance of rain with a 5% chance of heavy. 0% chance of snow, 10% chance of sandstorms (5% heavy sandstorm).
-Woods Biomes have a 30% chance of rain with a 10% chance that it will be heavy. 0% chance of snow and sandstorms.
-Taiga Biomes have a 0% chance of rain. 40% chance of snow (20% blizzard). 0% sandstorm.
-Desert Biomes have a 5% chance of rain with no chance of heavy rain. 0% chance of snow, 30% chance of sandstorms (10% heavy sandstorm).
-Plains Biomes have a 20% chance of rain with a 10% chance of heavy. 0% chance of snow and sandstorms.
-Tundra Biomes have a 0% chance of rain. 70% chance of snow (30% blizzard) and 0% chance of sandstorms.
-(New) Volcanic Biomes now exist. They are composed mainly of cobble, smoothstone, and gravel, although dirt and sand may occur very rarely. Surface lava is a rare but possible occurrence. In addition, surface lava in any other biome is now impossible. Volcanic Biomes are usually coupled with an active volcano mountain, ranging from 20 meters above sea level to 5 meters below max height, and ranging from 14 meters wide to 30 meters wide. Surface lava is usually visible inside the mouth of the volcano.
(Idk guys...) Disasters
-Hurricanes have a 2% chance of occurring and can only spawn in 5000sq meters or more of water. Appears as a spinning column of water with water projecting out of it. Causes the Heavy Rain effect. May raise water level in the area up to a maximum of 8 above sea level. Can destroy all wooden materials, sand, dirt, torches, and bookshelves. Submerged chests cannot be opened. Has a minimum diameter of 20 blocks and a maximum of 100. May travel up to 200m over land.
-Forest fires have a 3% chance of occurring (raises to 5% in the Savannah Biome). Can not begin on player-planted trees.
-Lava lashes have a 4% chance of occurring and can only be created when 9 or more source blocks of lava are present. Lava will burst out momentarily in a whip-like fashion.
-Volcanic eruptions have a 10% chance of occurring (each occurrence within 24 hours cuts the chances down by 50%. Chances reset after 24 hours.). Can spew lava anywhere ranging from 1m above the mouth of the volcano to 12m above. Runoff magma moves quicker than normally placed lava sources. Destroys all wooden materials and turns dirt into cobble. Magma that remains on the surface may "harden" to create smoothstone, which over time can increase the size of the volcano. It is very possible that a volcano eventually creates an island.
-Earthquakes have a 4% chance of occurring per 24 hours in all areas. The seismic effects of the Earthquake can span from 50-400 blocks in diameter. In an earthquake, the screen will shake and there will be varying levels of other effects based on the following:
Leaves
-Leaves are now harvest-able items. Works as gravel wherein in some instances saplings may be dropped instead of leaves.
-Leaves may drop on the ground when trees decay
-Leaves may be placed in the same block up to a maximum of three times
-One unit of leaves burns and produces smoke for 12 seconds. Adding more leaves will naturally add to the effect.
Other
-Hamburger: 1 Bread middle top, 1 Bread middle bottom, 1 Cooked Porkchop middle middle. Heals 6 hearts.
-Trapdoor: 3 Wood Planks across the middle, 3 Wood Planks across the bottom. Behaves the same way as in a door except that it operates going across horizontally.
-Storm Drain: 7 cobble arranged in a sideways H. Prevents flooding from occurring in a 15 block radius.
Books & Paper
-Players can now write on paper. Maximum of 800 characters per sheet. It will be in your inventory named as the title you provide it.
-Players can now write in books. Maximum of 800 characters per page. Maximum of 100 pages. Who would write this much? I don't know.
-Players can now store books and paper in bookshelves. Bookshelves act as chests only for books and paper.
-Placing books or paper in water will ruin them.
-To make a copy of a page/ book, put it in the work bench in the center and place a page/book directly above it.

Ships
Provided my push for realistically sized oceans pulls through, customizable ships may be a nice feature. Every ship needs:
- A Helm: Right click this once the ship is completed to steer and drive. It is a placeable block at the same heightmap as a Fence.
A Sail: These are needed to propel the ships. Build a large pole out of any material, and then use the Sail-Maker tool (1 stick bottom middle, 1 stick middle middle, 1 gold ingot top middle) to select the four corners of where the sail should go. If you have over 50 blocks of sails, the ship will move 25% faster than a boat. If 100 blocks or more, 50% faster. This is to counteract speed penalties of larger ships (see below).
A unified structure: This means that all blocks of the ship must be connected to each other in order for the boat to move, but make any shape you want. Might I suggest a Trollface ship with a giant battering ram on the front and 20 cannons lining the top?
Trees will now collapse realistically. If you chop a block off of a tree that is not the top, it will fall in the direction that you chopped it from. The portion of the tree above the cut will fall, the lower will remain. This would be very, very difficult to implement.

Items / Materials
- -Oil
- -Used in the lantern recipe, a bright and carry-able light source.
-When used to the left of torches, creates Oil-Torches. These burn brighter.
-Can be dumped onto water and will spread out to a thin sheet atop it. This can be lit on fire, effectively simulating Greek Fire.
-Floats upward in water.
- -Now drop beef. Raw: 1 heart. Cooked: 3.5 hearts.
-Every cow has a 5% chance to drop no beef, 65% to drop 1 beef, and 30% to drop 2 beef.
- -Pork drop rates have been modified. 10% chance to drop none, 60% to drop 1, 30% to drop 2.
- -Crafted from 3 wheat across the bottom, 1 water bucket in the center, and 5 sugar filling in the rest. This inedible stage of the Pasta stacks up to 64.
-Cooked in a furnace, the bucket is returned.
-After cooked, the Pasta must be placed in a wooden bowl.
-Eating the Pasta restores 5.5 hearts. Bowl is returned.
- -Crafted from 1 bucket of milk in the center surrounded by 8 sugar.
-Is notoriously bad for your blood pressure.
-After the recipe is crafted, it remains in your inventory (stackable up to 16) as Ice Cream Concentrate. This is inedible.
-The Ice Cream Concentrate must be placed in a 1x1 holding area. You must be within a Taiga or Tundra biome for the freezing effect to take place. This will take roughly 20 minutes.
-Once "frozen" (a different texture will be used), the ice cream must be scooped up with a wooden bowl.
-From here, it can be eaten for 5 hearts. And don't question the logic, but the Ice Cream won't melt if you leave the biome.
- -Used in the lantern recipe, a bright and carry-able light source.
The Barn
-A Barn Block is crafted from 3 Logs on the bottom and 6 planks filling in the rest.
-You must place Barn Blocks in a 4x4 cube for it to operate. After which, the individual blocks will take a linked and finished shape. This building becomes enter-able from the front.

-If the fence is broken for more than half of an in-game day, all of the animals despawn.
Biomes
- -The average size of a particular biome is increased to roughly 1km x 1km. The smallest possible biome is at .25km x.25km, while the largest is as 4x4km.
-
- -The height of the map is increased from 128 to 512. Cloud bottoms are at 508.
-Sea level is at 256. This allows for much larger naturally generated mountainous biomes and forests.
-Coal can be found at anywhere from 280 - 1.
-0 height is flat bedrock.
-Iron can be found at anywhere from 240 - 1.
-Gold can be found at anywhere from 190 - 1.
-Redstone can be found at anywhere from 160 - 1.
-Diamonds can be found at anywhere from 100 - 1.
-Oil shares similar style caverns to lava and is found at anywhere from 50 - 1.
-Lava is found at anywhere from 40 - 1.
Drinks
-Water is now drinkable. Each bucket allows for 1 swig. Bucket is not destroyed during drinking. Restores 0.5 bars of health. Only useable once every minute.
-(New Item!) Hops: Grow and are harvested just like sugar cane. Used in the production of Beer.

Moderate Earthquake: 40% of earthquakes will be this. Moderate camera shaking, trees will rustle briskly, buildings may quake. Loose sand and dirt caves may have falling blocks come down.
Heavy Earthquake: 10% of earthquakes will be this. Intense camera shaking, trees will shake and possibly break (or if my idea is added, collapse like real trees), buildings can collapse in on themselves, caves can become buried, movement is difficult.
Leaves

More Uses for Current Items
Leather:
- -Backpack: 9 Leather filling up the box as well as an additional one in the center. Is placed in the chest slot to provide an additional 12 spaces of inventory. Degrades after 1000 removals / deposits of items into the backpack.
-Grip: 1 Leather in bottom middle, 1 Leather in center. Place directly beneath a tool in the crafting window to enhance its effect slightly (ex: sword deals 1 more heart of damage, pickaxe speed increased by 10%, shovel speed increased by 10%, etc). Degrades once tool degrades.
- -Lantern: 8 glass around the outside with 1 torch in the center. Can be held to provide light on the go, or can be placed just as a torch can for a more powerful light source. Can also be placed from the ceiling.
-Stained Glass: Just as you would with wool. Recolors the glass to the color of the dye.
- -Adobe: 4 dirt in workbench shape to create 1 adobe brick. Breaking tool is now a pickaxe, and adobe is much stronger than dirt. Doesn't grow grass.
-Clay: Breaking dirt now has a 5% chance to drop clay.
