Intelli has historically given instructions/forced changes on realms around spawn. The one that comes to mind most recently was someone building a giant sign that floated right above the mine realm sign advertising their guild. There have also been times where people have made giant cubes/floating random junk blocks near spawn, and Intelli has been forced to order them to remove it. I believe that with one of the Ceteri realms, he gave them 2 weeks to fix it, or have their realm auctioned off. . It is pretty well established that if he decides that something near spawn is an eye sore, than he is 100% within his rights to order it be changed.

So now minerealm has become about looks, not about fun eh? Pretty sure rule 9 is to have fun...Yet I hear that an unwritten rule and be enforced or punishment can be made. Look, I'm not bashing on Intelli about nothing. He has done great things and very poor things for this server, and I feel one of those things is that unwritten rule. In the case of the giant sign, well the Minerealm sign is on the 2 realms on spawn, that was his choice to put the sign there. The people that put that sign up there for a reason, because its the first thing you see when you come onto minerealm for the first time. Why should they have had to remove it? It may be advertisement, but thats was advertisement in MINEREALM. How is that an eye sore? Its simply displaying their guild to get noticed. The people already logged into minerealm, I'm pretty sure they don't need a sign to see that the server is named Minerealm, but a sign showing people that here are guilds they can join in game, now thats a useful sign.

It's a permissible request. As staff has stated quite clearly in this very thread and elsewhere, it IS a rule that builds directly at spawn need to be of a certain quality. Yes, it's subjective. No, it's not the most publicized rule, but it affects only a handful of players, all of whom have been here quite some time, and can reasonably be expected to know about it.

If this is not ruled to merit a ban on Roobean's part, that will basically be the purpose of this thread, hence the "/Ultimatum" in the title. Your suggestion of some kind of demonstration of the end result is a superb idea, however, and would greatly defuse the situation whilst people try to light a fire under Roo's rear end to get it done.

Spawn is everybody's business, as it's a representation of our server as a whole. As staff, Torn is not merely justified, but actively fulfilling his duties by raising his concerns. While a ban request may be a somewhat harsh way to deal with this issue, it DOES convey the degree of seriousness involved.
