Aaah so much clutter this is what a proper desktop looks like. I stopped using icons since windows XP and never looked back.

Though since I am now on windows 8 this could also be considered my desktop?

I've used it. The interface is horrible and just generally unpleasant to use.

Next time, actually find out if the person you're talking to has used the OS, without jumping to the conclusion which would fit your side of the discussion.

Tons of high quality wallpapers that can easily be sorted to whatever floats your boat best.

I, myself, like the fantasy and abstract varieties.

Been too long since I've even played minecraft, let alone log onto minerealm in any way.
And yet I still haven't forgotten the times I've had here - it really was fun while it lasted.

The top image is my 15-inch retina monitor with my MBP. The wallpaper is an image of Paris with the time updating live amongst the city buildings. The bottom image is a larger Dell monitor that extends my desktop, with also a live background updating with the date, time, and weather. The colored wheel ticks around for AM-PM/Month/Day/Hrs/Mins/Secs.

And @Life_is_a_party... wallbase.cc is the best sight I've found for wallpapers.
