This is my view:

Get rid of realms, and make it mostly vanilla. What those other players said was true. I love their thinking.

Keep chest protection. I don't want it to be a chore just to find and get to my chests. Make it so that only a player who put down the chest, as well as mods, can modify or make changes to it.

keep /home and /spawn. I think beds should work how they were supposed to. I want to be able to spawn at a bed when I die.

no anti-griefing stuff, but do have per-player rollbacks and such. We need to work to do things, we can't expect the mods to do it all for us. ONLY use the rollback if it is a major griefing, like 100 blocks destroyed or something. We need to work to suit our needs.

no tnt or explosions. It made it laggy. With all these add-ons removed, I think it would be fun to have a completely lag-free server, 24/7.

I think rail protection would be nice, but I'll be fine without.

Any time when we can expect this completed and ready for release?

I hate to be the one to say this, but I really doubt that removing realms will magically make everybody friends again. If the community's divided now, it's most likely going to stay as such for quite a while.

The countries system seemed like the best fix for both community and independence. Having exceedingly large areas of owned land encourages large communities to band together and collaborate, while still providing some protection. If necessary, it can be compromised a bit (such as removing warps) to make everyone happy.

As for vanilla values...
Well, if you're gonna strip off all the server's distinctive features and make it essentially just another of countless vanilla survivals, then please, for the love of GAWD, opensource the realm plugin so that it's not all for naught.

Those weren't exceedingly large, and they did not band together. All of the realms were basically rivals with one another, competing for the biggest realm. If anything, it split up the community. Also, the realms were not that big, only a single city, nothing more.

Well, I sees this going one of two ways.

If the anti griefing tools are as good as Intelli is leading me to believe, and I have no reason to doubt him, then realms wouldn't really be needed.

On the other hand, Minerealm without realms is just Mine. It seems kind of wrong to get rid of what is clearly the defining element of the server(not counting the mods, people, etc. I am speaking only in terms of server properties).

My opinion is that we don't NEED realms if mods can tell who removed/added blocks and can simply roll them back. The player wouldn't need to even be online for them to do that, I think. The only problem I can see with that is that griefers consider rollbacks a "win", which is pretty minor considering most people don't give a flying **** about what they think.

Edit: I know it was Minerealm before the realms, but now that they are here the name makes more sense. Like, it's not just a cool name anymore, it also has meaning!

You realize this server was called Minerealm before the realm system was ever created?

It would only rollback what the griefers did. So if "stupidgrieferman051" went, destroyed 500 blocks, and placed 200 obsidian, we would just do "/rollback stupidgrieferman051", and it would just undo what he did. This has already been implemented for Creative 2.0.

In the bolded portion, I was pretty clearly referring to Countries, not Realms.
