I know we use very few plugins and r a legit server but I honestly think with that loser whatever his name is running around our server.
We need to add lockette in for pure chest protection with the chests being auto locked by the person who placed it and it would just stop greifing with stolen items in general and save staff a lot of time.
That is if we use Bukkit or not, not really sure what we use

yes I know we have realms but for someone who just joined the server they don't start out with 10k or a realm and a ender chest only goes so far for stuff. This guy just runs around looting ppls chest. I know when I 1st started I didn't get 10k rite away but have chests filled with blocks and got looted many times due to that.

I agree, we need something, at least temporary. I'm sure Intelli is working on something.

even if we have it where it banned you for just opening a chest that doesn't belong to you would save a lot of looting

An enderchest to store your valuable stuff if more than enough space before you get your first 10k.

I'm not opposed to the general idea of adding some extra protection for the benefit of new players who don't have realms, but I'd prefer that anything that gets implemented here be made by Glorious Leader himself. It's part of what makes MR unique, having a few special plugins designed by the server owner, rather than common (albeit quite good) plugins that any server can grab from the interwebs.

Also, an ender chest does provide a substantial amount of help. True, it's not enough to store absolutely everything you're likely to acquire on your quest for 10K credits, but you can at least keep your most prized possessions in it--it has enough room for as much diamond / gold / iron as you're likely to find prior to being able to afford a realm.

When houses in public land are griefed, they can be rolled back. The only thing that can't be (or isn't) rolled back is chests. With the addition of Lockette, this would become a non-issue because the chests could not be opened or broken anyway. Hence, if somebody decided that they'd rather use their credits to do something other than buy a realm ASAP, they would have no reason not to do this.

And of course, there's the issue that our plugins are custom and it takes away from the uniqueness of the server to use such a common, popular plugin, as has previously been stated.

I think we need a custom made by Intelli plugin that would only allow the person who placed the chest to use it, or something

Since the new 'destroy a chest and get banned' plugin is added, it actually makes it a lot easier for players to protect their chests. You don't necessarily need to 'think outside the square', you just need to change it.

I have thought of a system that can protect public chests temporarily, or indefinitely, depending on how smart these griefers are. Anyone can do it.
