So.. I've been lurking around.. and noticing things.. Other people bumping ban appeals like no ones business... I've spoken to a few people around MR about this, and they agree on my thought so i figured, HEY SUGGESTION TIME..

What this is, is pretty much cracking down on Bumping of ban appeals.. Other people shouldn't be bumping appeals that aren't for them.. Yes they might want them back, but that's what the polls are to show.. To show their support without the mindless 1 word post.. But now.. Bumping?

This isn't directed at any one person, because a lot of people do this.. so it's more of an all around thing for everyone. I think that if someone wants to be unbanned bad enough, that they will post every day or as often as they can without the help of others.. unless they have specifically asked to have ONE other person bump due to maybe being out of town, or maybe they got grounded or have a job? Real life exists and We understand that. I'm sure they will take whatever free time they have and bump, if they really, really would like to return.

Other players bumping.. it feels like they are going around the purpose of the polls... Showing their opinion with a one worded post.. Ban appeals were supposed to be between the Banned player, staff, and people who had information to contribute to the appeal.. Honestly it should go back to being that way but this suggestion isnt for that.

TLDR; Only Banned players should bump their appeals, not anyone else unless directed to ONE person due to RL issues that keep them from bumping.

Well some people have this rare thing called life. Life doesn't allow them to get on a video games forum everyday. And for the people who have these rare life things, they find it respectful to the people who are polite enough to bump whilst they are away.

I agree with this but how could this be regulated? Bumbing is already not allowed and is barely banned as it is common, the idea itself isn't sustainable.

So I propose another idea to go along with this, the recreation of forum mods. This will mean forums have increased regulation as well as ideas such as these being paid more attention to.

Regulation of servers will also increase if both ideas are implemented that will mean that staff wouldn't need to spend time dealing with banned players on the forums if forum mods are dealing with people bumping ban appeals and this would mean that the staff can spend more time helping/banning people on the servers.

People can click the "View your posts" button, go through their posts and find their ban appeals and bumb it themselves once they are done "having a life".
You don't need someone to do it for you.

Double post aside, exactly.. Intelli implemented the Bump button for a reason... and i think there is a reason that only the author of the thread can use it.

Also oneman, if you had read my entire post... I said they can designate someone to bump for them if the time arises that they have RL duties that need them. Yes, people have lives, hence why i'm rarely on anymore but think about it... with all these people who have smartphones and whatnot, im sure that they would be able to either A: Find 2 minutes to type "bump" on a post, or B: When they write the appeal, ask that a friend bump for them.. It's not hard to do.. This would cut down on the useless re-bumping of topics by multiple people.. People have it in their head that the more an appeal is bumped,it has a higher success rate.. It doesn't.

It can be regulated.. It was regulated in the past when intelli declared that posts on a ban appeal that are just there, with no information about the incident or whathave you, would result in a forum ban. I remember those days well. If they can regulate that, they can regulate this.

Keep in mind the increase of population on the server and on the forums, if you read the thread "Need staff" then you see that most of the time the server itself can't be regulated. I do see your sense though and I would like to see it implemented, even if it doesn't entirely work.

Just like to make a few vital points here,
* The appeal is NOT required to be bumped every day
As long as it is recent it will be seen by the head admin, therefor not being on to bump every day is not an issue. Whenever you are on you can do your daily bump, but it is not required. However it seems alright to ask someone else to bump it for you in the circumstance that you cannot be on but would like it to be bumped.
* If it isn't your appeal you shouldn't be bumping it without being told to do so.
1. It doesn't need to be bumped daily, as I said.
2. If the person who made the appeal isn't bumping you don't need to be either.

*Bumping

Bumping is allowed, please read the post in the ban section about bumping, as that is what this post is about. :P

I have not bothered to read the comments, and maybe the answer is in there some where, but how do you intend to moderate this bumping?

Staff will regulate it just fine, there is a reason we moderate the forums as well as in game.
