Recently, polls have been added to ban appeals. Thus, people vote wether they agree or disagree. With this said people also like explaining why they voted such, or even post relevant comments. Recently, many ban appeals have a only staff post type of comment on them. How can we as a server express our selves? I know I like to read the comments in a ban appeal before voting so I get the full story. And because voting pays a part in a decision, knowing the facts behind a player before voting seems as it should be allowed. All I want is for threads to be not limited to just staff, especially a ban appeal. Please tell me what you think!

Well already, the general idea is that you shouldn't post in the ban appeal unless you have something to contribute, and that those who do have some information that is important to the appeal should definitely post so that the full story can come out. I tend to ignore the "Only staff post please" if it's coming from the person appealing. Makes me think he doesn't want something to come out that might be known by another player.

Of course it's a different story when a staff member says staff only may post. Either way, I don't think you need to suggest it...from what I understand, the person appealing isn't really within his rights to demand that staff only post in the thread.

Where do I start?
How can we as a server express our selves?
Trouble is, some people have been posting on appeals recently and flaming - which is why we decide to make some appeals user and staff only threads to eleminate the flaming.
And because voting pays a part in a decision
The poll is there for Staff to judge the opinion of the server for that particular player. The poll in noway has judgement on whether the player gets unbanned or not. To quote:

"Voting is a matter of getting the public opinion on appeals, and so they do not feel the need to post an incessant amount of +1 or -1 votes. However, These Polls do not control the outcome of the ban appeals themselves. The staff take the voting into account, but the bans/ban appeals are still up to staff discretion."
All I want is for threads to be not limited to just staff, especially a ban appeal
All appeals are intially open to everyone - However, there comes a point when the flaming needs to be stopped or avoided before starting. When this point comes, the thread will be user and staff only.

I vote no.

First bold: uhh they do mean something?
Second bold: so I can go post on kingmyass's ban appeal right now? Or anyone that says just staff post for that matter?

Yep, I'm pretty sure you can. There's no rule that says you're allowed to limit posting in your own ban appeal to staff and yourself. Only staff can do that, from what I understand.

As said before, it is all caused by flaming. If everybody miraculously stopped this habit and thought rationally before typing (therefor not sounding like an ape), this suggestion would not exist.

I do agree, but even after Ninjalo's thread was locked, I was a lil annoyed that I couldn't reply to Ryu's posted video, which seemed disrespectful in my opinion, I mean if thats how you feel about the person thats great, but because your staff, don't take advantage of that and post a disrespectful song and then lock it (at least I thought it was disrespectful considering the lyrics "the ghost you used to be, pathetic, wasted, souless, compromised").

edit: Whether or not it was advantage or not (which it probably wasn't but I felt that why) shouldn't of been posted.

People should be able to preserve the right to have only staff post on their appeals. You must take into account that although they are preventing any opposition from being posted, they're also preventing any support for the appeal. The two even out and eliminate each other. Also, sometimes people want their ban appeal to just consist of what they say and what staff says. It makes the appeal very easy to navigate instead of having to filter out all the +1 comments and all that irrelevant stuff, and it makes it easier and faster to reach a decision.

+1 comments are already eliminated (in theory) by the polls. But if I read somebody's appeal and they say "Only staff post please," but I see something in their appeal that I know is a lie or I have information that they left out, I'm going to post it, regardless of what the person says. I think the mindless "I don't like you so you shouldn't be unbanned" posts should not be allowed anyway because they contribute nothing to the appeal, just like the +1 posts. But if somebody has important information, they should not hesitate to share it.
