I don't think it was just the fire. It was an apoc server with explosions, no redstone limits, etc.. The fire was just part of it.

Negative. I came back from my christmas travelling to ~200 blocks of fire put out.

Although, now that I know it might cause server lag, I might redesign that space to not use as much fire anyway....
