It wasn't the location that was rejected, it was how it would work. The accepted version would be expanded towards -Z but it will probably work similarly to how the wilderness does; you can't go in with items on you.

In the thread that was rejected the suggestion was expansion without the wilderness-like functionality. (If I remember correctly)
