That was not aimed to insult you, Sneaker. I was merely stating sarcastically that polls are not needed to state opinions, as the posts speak volumes.

I can't help but feel that the poll results have some impact on whether an individual is unbanned. If the results have no bearing whatsoever than what is the point of having the poll?

I'd hope that the level headed adult mods decisions would not be swayed by a merry band of twelve year olds who gang up on/support one person's appeal.

I think this is dumb because we all have people who dislike us, that will solely vote to keep a player banned because they don't like them, not because of what they did
#130893
If people don't like us they would vote no in the poll. So it doesn't really matter. Think of it this way: would you rather have your unbanning be decided by a bunch of 13 year olds saying +1, or a mature, responsible staff member?

Ideally, adding a poll will weed out the largely contentless "+1" and"-1" posts that don't really contribute, and instead condense the community's feeling into a more...elegant format. Possibly it will also prompt people to actually post something of SUBSTANCE, rather than just increasing their post count and cluttering up appeals with drabble.

We have not taken leave of our senses. Staff are still wholly in control of bans and unbans; the new polls will simply tell us community opinion.

Ael, that was made after my post was told to be [Invalid] to cover his tracks. Not meaning to sound rude but... check the post times.

My post was in the right, seeing as we had no idea since intelli wishes to implement some things without explaining them fully. There would have been no need for this if explained. Trust me, if i felt staff took leave of senses, im sure alot of us wouldn't be here. Nor did i ever say that staff WERE losing them either.

In that case, take his post as a clarification. We just want to make it clear at this point what's going on, and to keep people from going off half-cocked with bad or partial information.
