Intelli had ultimate say, he could override the majority as he wished. As of now, the majority is always implemented unless it's some extremely stupid idea or there's voting fraud.

Still trying to remains unbiased as possible. Don't think I want it gone, I just want to see if the community does.

Just to clarify, this is a vote to get rid of the new "crowdsourcing" method? Where:

"New features and changes to the server will be made depending on what users vote on in the ideas/suggestions section of the forum",

"100% of ideas suggested (that have at least 60% approval votes) will be implemented"

I like the fact that Intelli's trusting the community to make a lot of decisions, and I wouldn't want to lose that. As rokkr posted here, Intelli still does have the final authority to overrule anything especially bad, so the one potential downside of allowing abuse of suggestions shouldn't be a major problem.

The biggest problem I see with this system is lack of representation. I would say the majority of players aren't active on the forums enough for these polls to truly represent the community. An influx of changes to the server may come as an unpleasant suprise to many, who had no knowledge of the vote and for one reason or another couldn't or didn't participate. I think the forum should remain merely an inspiration for decisions rather then a direct democracy. People don't know what they want anyway. If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

Isn't that why polls are left to be determined and voted on over a prolonged period of time?

Even so, you will ultimately have a minority speaking for the majority. I just think it's better for us to make SUGGESTIONS rather then DECISIONS, and leave it to the main man himself to make the server in his image. Its worked so far and made MineRealm what it is and everything we like about it. Also I don't see how this is feasible without mandates and exceptions that would basically make it the same system as before

True true, too many cooks can ruin a dish...
But I still believe the players who are regularly playing Minerealm and are our biggest contributors to the society are contributing their views.
Perhaps if a poll surpasses a certain number of voters (ex. 35 voted for yes) instead of a certain percentage?

Perhaps both criteria could be used. Indeed, Intelli has stated that some threshold of total votes would be necessary in addition to the 60% majority, but that the specific threshold hasn't yet been established. However, removing the percentage requirement and replacing it with a vote total requirement would be pretty bad--some of the more contentious polls can get near or over 100 total votes. Imagine if a suggestion were implemented after a poll showed 35 supporters and 65 opponents!
