Well my idea is for players who get banned and are going on and on about why do they get banned. It will work just like the kick, a staff will do ban so and such, reason:griefing,flying, etc. hopefully this will reduce all of the questions asked in ban appeals.

Yes, yes! Perhaps some small coding could be done to create a shortcut for the command reason.
i.e. /ban player x
where x= x-raying (on the ban screen it will automatically show the reason being x-ray).
We could have
x = x-ray
f = flying
g = griefing
l= looting
t = trolling/harassment/inappropriateness
h= hacks/glitching/exploits
(Am I missing anything?)
And perhaps we could include a link to the forums in the ban appeals so they know where to go to get unbanned. (for example, my friend was banned on minerealm for saying "grape," but she doesn't know where to go to appeal.)

The link to the forums could also be coded to be auto-included.

When a staff member bans someone they have to put in a reason during the command. For example /ban <user> <reason>. This doesn't show up on the players screen, however, it is avaliable for other staff members to see. (I think that's how it works)

There is no reason to change this system.

I'm fairly certain that their reasoning in not telling people the reason for their ban is because of the following:
1. People should already know their wrong doings, because they most likely read the rules at spawn which are pretty clear on the general idea of what is bannable.

I think it might be nice to know why you were banned for a rule not listed at spawn though, but if you do to know the reasoning of your ban the staff can tell you once you post an appeal.

I'm a moderator on another server, and the way bans work is you type /ban player
and the reason is optional. On the player's screen, it'll say
"You have been banned by the server." Or "The ban hammer has spoken!" Or something like that. Then right below there will be a message that gives the reason.
