The other day I found out you need to be over 18 to be staff. (Well I found out a long time ago but...) so I had an idea. Why don't we have a Helper (or something like that) tag for people who want to be staff and have got through, but aren't over 18. When they turn 18 they become staff. You will have to provide you date of birth so the system automatically knows when you are 18 or Intelli adds it to an calender or just does it himself.

My point is I want to be one. I help '+' guys and gals a lot and I want to apply for staff. I am on a lot and I thought it would be a good idea and you still go through the same process as staff.

The whole idea of suggesting stuff is for the benefit of the server, not having your own unique tag. If you want a tag it's called 'donating' that you need to before you become staff anyway.

We don't give custom tags on MineRealm. The Donor tag is a special exception because we feel that people who choose to spend some of their real-life earnings to assist the server should be recognized. Or maybe it is an incentive... I dunno.

I don't know the actual reason for not having custom tags, but I would guess it is to keep chat clean. Two tags seems to be pretty much the max. Note that the "Veteran" tag got axed after like a couple days and "Admin" and "Mod" were combined to "Staff".

However, understand that 18 years of age is just a minimum requirement. Being 18 years old does not automatically qualify you to become a staff member. Also, staff members are "hired" when deemed necessary. This means that if Intelli (and the other staff) feel that a new member is needed, they would hire one to start working immediately. Promising players that they will be "promoted" to staff in months or even years is not beneficial to us, as we "hire" on demand.

What it comes down to is... you can help people without a special tag. I applaud your will to help new players, but a special Helper tag will never surface.

You need to have donated to become a staff member.
