What is the protocol if you want to buy a realm, that is pubiic land, but has clearly been developed at some point in time. My purpose is to connect contiguous realms together, not just randomly claim realms. I don't want to get accused of harassment or griefing. Thanks.

i always just buy the realm and if nobody contacts you in 1 month demolish it and build whatever you want.

Buy the realm, then wait two weeks for a previous owner/builder to come and claim their stuff. If they don't, it's yours. If they do, give them their stuff and it's still yours. If they want to keep building there, sort it out with an admin, or just give them access to the realm. Hope that helped.
