How about non-members of a realm can't access chests within that realm?

You already programmed a chest locking mod. If people are still too stupid to use it they deserve to be robbed.
If you are going to cave in to the idiots though, at least make it require a 250x250 realm before this takes effect.

Creeper explosion damage will be disabled everywhere, including the wilderness.

So creepers will destroy blocks but not damage you?

2) Of course, I stole way more than that from you in the first place. Consider it an "I'm sorry" consolation prize.
3) Being banned is just a minor inconvenience in the long run. People should still be held accountable for locking their own chests.

just a suggestion, it seems like realms grow quite fast until they reach about 100x100 (requiring only 7000 blocks), then, it takes awhile between expansions to about 200x200(requiring 61625 blocks), after that, you could build an entire 110x110 realms worth of stuff (at least), in between expansions, at 300x300 (requiring a whole 213750 blocks, nearly 136.8 diamond tools are required to mine this amount.) the progress becomes to slow to see, gaining realm growths only after placing literally multiple chunks worth of mined blocks. if a realm were ever to reach 400x400 it would have cost them cost 513375 blocks to reach that size, though they are 16 times the physical size of a 100x100 realm, the land costs are so immense that on average, each square meter is 3.2 meters (10 feet) deep in building materials, and if it has 20 members, each one can have only 8000 square blocks, as opposed to the 22500 square blocks they would have if they were in separate realms.

what I am saying is that the curve starts fast, gets good around 100x100, and then just slows to a halt from there, each level costing one quarter of the realms scale in blocks.
the construction cost per square meter of land goes like this:
30x30=free
40x40=9/64th=0.141
50x50=1/4th=0.250
60x60=25/72nd=0.347
70x70=43/98th=0.439
80x80=135/256th=0.527 (more than half a placement per square meter)
90x90=199/324th=0.614
100x100=7/10th=0.7
140x140=407/392nd=1.038(more than one placement per square meter)
200x200=493/320th=1.541(more than 1.5 placements per square meter)
260x260=345/169th=2.041(more than 2 placements per meter squared on average the realm is literally 6 feet deep in its own construction)
380x380=8785/2888th=3.042 (a realm nearly 10 feet deep in blocks, and requiring over 3 placements for every square meter of land)

so as you can see, it is not economical to build realms bigger with 10 friends, as long as it is 100x100 or bigger, it is better for everyone to have individual realms.
I propose a more gradual expansion cost increase, like maybe a cost of 15*(realm area's square root)
30x30 to 40x40=450
40x40 to 50x50=600
50x50 to 60x60=750
60x60 to 70x70=900
70x70 to 80x80=1050
80x80 to 90x90=1200
90x90 to 100x100=1350
100x100 to 110x110=1500 (7,800 blocks to get to 100x100)
but only 69,300 blocks to get to 310x310.
a realm that would be 400x400 in the current system would be
840x840, preferably the system would be a pinch steeper at high values, and a pinch less at low, i would aim for land prices to add 0.5 placements per block every doubling in size.
so ideally, 30x30 costs 300-ish to upgrade, and is free to get to.
60x60 costs 1800 to get to
120x120 costs 14400 to get to
240x240 costs 86,400 to get to
480x480 costs 460800 to get to
and 960x960 is prohibitively expensive to get to at 2304000 blocks
that way, nobody can fill the map with 800x800 realms, but there is still reasons to join a city.
also, how big will the map be, I have heard everything from 2000x2000 to 42000x42000.
i think the map should be at least 4000x4000, for one thing, one person can take all pumpkins on the map in 1600 minutes! or 40 people in less than 2 hours via each randomly scanning in an uncoordinated pattern.

EDIT: what servers will usually be up? obviously survival, I presume also creative, but will there be others? party? war?

will private realms in 3.0 be visitors on, visitors off or something else?
after all, there is no need for that kind of exclusiveness with chest protection.
and if they were locked off, nobody could make city tours.
also, is there any chance there will be a second set-able warp point?
I have moved twice and they are fantastically useful for moving.

finally, will there be protection for other systems that 100x100 realm members place in the wilderness?
maybe Redstone?
and protection should also protect for 2 blocks above. don't wanna ride that cart into a lava blade!
protection needs to protect from nature, maybe wait 20 seconds after placed before that protection enables.

1) I knew you donated them. that's partially why I am surprised you are still here.
2) the funny thing is that in diamonds, I have probably not ever had that many stolen, lost maybe, but not stolen (I have only lost about 1.5 stacks of diamonds to theft, of which only 1 stack is attributed to you.), however, I probably lost that much worth of gold (3-5 stacks) and iron (14-17 stacks) and green dye etc...
3) how is being banned a minor inconvenience? there isn't any way to get unbanned when you are convicted very easily (especially without a ban appeal) trust me, my brother tried (although, his technique wasn't that good).
4) sorry if I sounded unappreciative, I do like have 2 stacks of diamonds though, and I am was somewhat confused as to what your plan is in the future.

Also, here is what I think a (somewhat) smart person would do in minerealm 3.0 survival
Join a large (bigger than 100x100) realm.
found their own realm (make sure you cannot create in 2 or more realms and simultaneously lead them.)
gather materials in the large realm's mines, farms and grinders and rapidly build their realm to 100x100 (presuming that they are not kicked from that realm for not sharing much)
possibly quit the large realm or not.
migrate all of there chests over to their own realm.
If they wanna make some enemies, they migrate their house and some community resources to.
unless the realm system is changed, it is always more economical to have a 100x100 realm then a similarly priced share of a 210x210 (because 210x210 is 10 times the price of 100x100, but only 4.41 times the size).
so, realm leaders of cities, try to get a few devoted citizens, not a population of 150 people who live abroad.
also, critically important, will you be able to be a leader of multiple realms? what about the only person in 4 different realms? I can just imagine, 64 hundred by hundred realms, all very close together, taking up 870x870 with paths in between, colony sector a1, colony sector a2, colony sector a3...
colony sector c7, colony sector c8, colony sector d1...
colony sector h6, colony sector h7, colony sector h8.
except maybe replace sectors d4, d5, e4 and e5 with one big realm to signify the name of the place (Omicron mining colony or whatever). So 61 realms, at Slightly less than the cost of one 400x400 realm.
or if it was okay if they were public, make 'em all 30x30, and make the map filled up. :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
