Latest News:
  • May 9, 2011:

Upcoming Changes to the Realm System: (List not finished!)
  • "/realm warp" command will be removed.
  • No longer possible to disable visitors within a realm
  • If you realm is under 100x100(?) anyone can build within the realm. Realms 100x100 or larger automatically prevent non-members from building within the realm.
  • Railroad tracks placed in the wilderness by a member of a 100x100 (or larger) realm will be automatically protected.
  • Creeper explosion damage will be disabled everywhere, including the wilderness.
  • TNT will be disabled everywhere. (Currently causing issues / lag).
  • Numerous bug fixes / performance enhancements.
  • To join a realm, you must be invited to the realm. (Required for all realms)
  • New method for expansion. If a side is blocked off, rather than compensating for the space loss on the opposite side, it will reduce the block count required for the next expansion.
  • You can't access chests within a realm that you're not a member of.
  • Players can be members of multiple realms.
  • Party of 6 players (max party size) required to create a realm!
  • 60 diamonds required to create a realm. Oh yes. =]
  • New realms have a limit of 10 members. This can increase.
  • Default realm size will be increaed. (50x50?)
  • Possibly removing the 100x100 limits stated above.
  • Realms will no longer auto-destruct.
Upcoming Generic Changes: (List not finished!)
  • Removal of ability to sleep in beds. On death, players must return to the main spawn area.
  • "/reply" command for private messaging.
  • "/pvp" command, enables players to enable or disable PVP. Only players with PVP enabled can attack other players / be attacked. There is a 10 second delay to enable/disable PVP for a player, and nearby players are notified.
  • Removal of the "wilderness".
  • "/who <player>" shows advanced information about players, such as their block count, join date, etc.
  • New advanced anti-grief monitoring tools for moderators.
  • Public /sign command.
  • PVP rankings. (listed on minerealm.com)
  • Parties! /party create, /party join, /party invite, /party remove, /p <chat>

keep Realms, all I ask

Since Intelli asked...


1. Safety. The ability to make a safe, grief free area to build is a great bonus
2. Community. We all speak in chat but it's nice to have a group of people working together (as that's how I was invited here)
3. Competition. It's nice to have a list of realms, and work to make your own stand out on that list.

I just think for me at least that the benefits of realm outweigh any negatives there might be.

I think that they just mean the current realms. I doubt that Intelli would ditch the realm plugin completely.

Please, please leave in realms. The protection from griefing and theft (partially) is a great thing. I love the sense of actually OWNING land as opposed to just living there and claiming it on presence.

From what Intelli's saying in-game, it seems pretty obvious he does mean he's getting rid of the realm plugin, or at the very least, removing its main features such as block protection.

Well, I did think the server was more community-oriented during the Kurachi-days. I really wouldn't mind dropping realms. Back then you could live in any city you liked, or as many as you liked, of course at the discretion of the leaders. As much as the realm-plugin added, I can't help but feel it took something away, too.
